Gracias especialmente a nuestros facilitadores leotamayo & @alunadancetherapy

Earthquakes shake more than ground. 💔
They shake safety, stability, home.
Displacement = grief, fear, anxiety.
Trauma lingers long after danger passes.
To communities in Colombia & beyond:
We see you. We stand with you. You are not alone. 💛
Reach out. Support each other.
No one carries this alone.

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of one of the greatest voices in Colombian folklore: Sonia Bazanta, known to the world as Totó la Momposina (1 August 1940).

Through her music, she brought cumbia and Colombia's ancestral rhythms to stages around the world, inspiring generations of artists.

At CCFO, her legacy has also inspired many of our choreographies and the love with which we continue sharing our Colombian roots here in Australia.

Thank you, Totó, for showing the world that our traditions can travel across borders
Deep gratitude

Behind every great production is an extraordinary team. ❤️🇨🇴

RUANA & ROO was the result of months of dedication, creativity and teamwork. Behind this unique cultural experience were three people whose passion, vision and commitment brought the project to life.

Anny Mariño @annyfromcolombia – Co-Project Manager & Graphic Designer
From day one, Anny helped shape RUANA & ROO - from its name and visual identity to the overall aesthetic of the event. She played a key role in developing the Colombia–Australia concept, helping transform creative ideas into reality. Always willing to go the extra mile, Anny continually pushed our vision further and embraced every challenge with creativity, dedication and enthusiasm

Leonardo Tamayo @leotamayocoach – Stage & Choreography Director
Leo led the artistic direction of the stage production, overseeing rehearsals, guiding the dancers and refining every performance. He played a key role in translating the creative vision onto the stage, from costume visualisation to movement, staging and performance direction. His artistic leadership ensured every moment was cohesive, dynamic and emotionally engaging.

Sandra Lucas @alunadancetherapy – Founder & Creative Producer
With over 15 years of experience producing cultural events in Australia, Sandra led the creative vision behind RUANA & ROO. Her mission has always been to preserve and celebrate Colombian culture while building meaningful connections between Colombia and Australia. Through storytelling, costume design and immersive cultural experiences, she continues to create spaces where people from diverse backgrounds can come together to celebrate, learn and connect through art and tradition.
She also creates opportunities for emerging migrant artists, providing platforms that empower them to perform, grow and share their stories with the wider Australian community.

What a unique and beautiful way to celebrate Colombian Independence Day together. 🇨🇴❤️

More than an Independence celebration, it was a collection of stories that connected cultures. 🇨🇴❤️🇦🇺

Last night at @redrattlersydney , we proudly introduced the talented actress Geraldine, performing on an Australian stage for the very first time. Joining us directly from Colombia, she became the narrative thread that guided the audience on a journey through our regions.

Through her story, we travelled from Boyacá to Antioquia, discovering that every region of Colombia has its own unique identity - its landscapes, flavours, colours, traditions, and the warmth of its people.

At @ccfoau we believe that folklore is not only danced… it is also told. Our productions are inspired by the history, geography, traditions, and cultural heritage of Colombia's diverse regions, creating experiences where both Colombians and Australians can connect, learn, and be moved.

What makes our productions unique is that the audience doesn't simply watch—they become part of the story. Through immersive and interactive experiences, we invite people to laugh, feel, participate, taste, and journey through Colombia with us, becoming protagonists in every performance.

Because when art tells stories, cultures come together. 🌎
