Thank you to the brilliant and lovely founder of @flamingo_estate Richard Christiansen (we met briefly at the end) the last and my fav speaker @fastcompany innovation week, your comment “There’s no joy in speed. Joy is slow” truly changed the way I’ve been thinking of my consultancy. After 20 years as a New Yorker (originally from a country town in Connecticut) you helped me see that slow is my superpower (excuse the trite word but it fits here). Noticing the beauty in small pleasures everyday. Cheers, we support you here @joyfulplate. Quoting you “Everything is too optimized today. Fast is the enemy of intimacy”. I've been quiet. I know. But here's the thing — I wasn't sitting still. 🥂 I was in France, walking through champagne cellars that have been aging bottles since 1830, learning what it truly means to obsess over craft. 🏆 I was in Las Vegas at the @lesdamesintl conference, surrounded by some of the most remarkable women in food and reminded why this community matters so much. 🍽️ I was in Arizona, @fairmontscotsdl, consulting and cooking for multiple luxury weddings — hundreds of guests, dozens of dishes and moments that reminded me why I fell in love with food in the first place. 🌶️ And I was in Kentucky, making sauce and falling in love with what we're building all over again. Somewhere in all of that, I remembered why I started Shachi's Spice Girl Sauces and @adyaoc. Because food should taste like somewhere. Like someone cared. Like an old memory or a new one. Honored and humbled. 🙏 I've been nominated for the @ocbizjournal Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award — and I'm sharing this one with a full heart. I'm a chef. A restaurateur. A sauce maker. A culinary consultant and a storyteller. An entrepreneur who has spent over two decades building businesses rooted in the flavors and culture of India. ADYA has been my restaurant home for 12 years — a place where modern Indian food gets the attention it deserves, right here in Anaheim. Shachi's is my newest chapter — a line of Indian-rooted sauces and spices born from the same passion, with big things on the horizon. Two very different businesses.
