Looking to take the kids to Paris or Disneyland? 🇫🇷

AD / The LeShuttle has to be part of your adventure, it made getting to and from France, super easy 🚝

It’s just a 35 minute trip on board and the kids were happy in the back listening to their Tonies.

There was even a mini soft play in the terminal, where the kids could burn off some energy ✨

The best bit about taking your own car is you can pack everything you need, which means less stress and happy kids!

LeShuttle makes a family adventure so easy 💚

SAVE THIS: A wild weekend in northern France

What if I told you that just a short drive from Calais, you could watch wild seals, ride horses along enormous sandy beaches, explore medieval villages and stay in beautiful wooden cabins surrounded by nature?

Welcome to Baie de Somme, one of northern France’s most beautiful hidden gems.

We spent two nights exploring this extraordinary stretch of coastline, and I honestly can’t believe somewhere so wild, peaceful and wonderfully uncrowded is so close to home.

Here’s our itinerary so you can recreate it.

GETTING THERE
We packed up the car, hopped on LeShuttle from Folkestone to Calais and drove south to Baie de Somme. Such an easy escape from the UK.

WHERE WE STAYED
Le Domaine du Val — gorgeous wooden cabins nestled in nature, with a heated indoor pool, playgrounds, farm animals and a 25-hectare nature reserve. A dream for families.

SATURDAY MORNING — WILD SEAL WATCHING
We headed out with our wonderful local guide Maxim to see the wild harbour and grey seals that call this coastline home.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON — HORSE RIDING
We rode through sand dunes filled with dragonflies before emerging onto vast, open beaches. That feeling of freedom, with nothing but sand, sea and sky, is something I’ll never forget.

SUNDAY MORNING — SAINT-VALERY-SUR-SOMME
We explored the medieval streets of this beautiful little French town, wandered through local markets and stocked up on delicious French goodies.

ON THE WAY HOME — NAUSICAÁ
We stopped at Nausicaá in Boulogne-sur-Mer, one of Europe’s largest aquariums, for one final underwater adventure before heading home.

WHAT MAKES BAIE DE SOMME SO SPECIAL?
For me, it was the space to simply be. No crowds, no rushing, just fresh air, wildlife, adventure and time together.

Two nights. Four incredible adventures. Memories we’ll treasure forever.

Save this itinerary for your next family escape, and share it with someone you’d love to explore northern France with.

We might be on a plane all the time but honestly nothing beats the convenience of getting in your own car and driving to your destination! 👌🏼

We have used LeShuttle to get to Europe by car multiple times in the last 10 years and it’s always much easier than flying (with or without kids!) 🚗

Have you ever used it? 😊

🐰🚗 An Easter road trip to France! 🇫🇷 (Hence the bunny and silly bandanna 😂). My first-ever trip out of the UK… I’m officially a European road tripper! 🇪🇺🐾

The first leg of the journey was all about getting cosy in the back seat, watching the world go by and perfecting my nap game. 😴💤 🚙

Next stop: Le Shuttle! 🚄 It was so quick and easy - we didn’t even have to leave the comfort of our car to board the train! But first, Mum and Dad took me to the dedicated doggie walking area at the terminal. Check-in was a breeze, and I got to stretch my four little legs, sniff all the new smells and make some friends. Before I knew it, we were on the train, and just 35 minutes later, we were across the Channel! ⏱️⚡

🐾 Don’t forget your doggie passport for the journey! 🐶✈️ Message me if you’d like more information about what you’ll need to travel to France with your furry friend! 😋🇫🇷

And just like that… goodbye, England - bonjour, France!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👋🇫🇷 A whole new country to explore, lots of new French smells to sniff and, oui oui, plenty of treats to eat! 🥐🥖😋

Let the Easter holiday adventures begin! 🐣🌷🐾
Stay tuned to find out where I went… 👀🇫🇷

I took the ferry last time, but this time I took the quick and hassle free option @leshuttle 🌞

I got a return ticket for £250 and I couldn’t believe how chill the experience was!

Lenny loved meeting the other dogs, and having an un-stressed mum 😅
