Playing with the boys 🧢 When I first started with this golf journey back in October 2023, I told myself I can do this. I NEED to do this.
.
I studied by watching #pga & #lpga players, read books, learned the rules, and said ok…it’s go time. That year, I played in my 1st out of state tournament in #lasvegas . I seeked the advice of someone very close and dear to me. The circle 🥋 is small but the energy is electric ⚡️ and mighty. She said, “what you are doing with golf is what I’m doing in jiu jitsu - staying true to yourself, playing the sport in the most authentic & feminine way possible. You are not competing against the men, but rather just playing with them. You are simply staying true to who you are. Go out there & just be you.” 🌺💫 🙇🏻‍♀️ Thank you Professor, sister, and friend for always having my back. @sophiamcdermottbjj @lethalladiesbjj #ladies #pure
.
.
Through the journey, I still play with these good men and I’m so friggin’ lucky 🤓that they have the patience and understanding to share their knowledge of the game with me.
.
🎥🤳 creds: @amonos_al_golf filmed this shot during his tournament at Saboba Golf Course in San Jacinto, CA. Ruben, a mentor and friend continues to share his knowledge and love for golf. Follow Amonos for more.
.
The journey continues…

Have you ever passed the guard and then had your arm trapped? If you keep passing, they’ll roll you over with a Kimura.
The best way to defend this is to treat this like a far arm bar. 🙌
First, you need to clear your leg, then lock your arm into your body (I hold onto my belt or pants) then step over his head and pivot for the arm bar. @lethalladiesbjj
let me know what you think. 🤔

Crossover Guard Recovery.
This is one of the best techniques to use to recover your guard. 💫
You can incorporate it to recover with various types of guard but here this technique is being implemented from a leg drag from Spider Guard.

I teach these drills weekly in my onl!ne platform Lethal Lad!es! 💃 Come jo!n me!!! @lethalladiesbjj

Turtle Position. 🐢
if you’re holding up high by their ribs and committing your arms then you’re most likely going to get rolled off over the top especially with a bigger opponent. 😩

Take a look at my tips on body positioning on how to control the turtle position without getting rolled off.

Last week in Lethal Ladies we covered Turtle Position as the Theme Of The Week and we did a deep into how to control the position how to prevent your opponent from sitting to guard and how to submit from there. 🙌

!f you’re a bad ass BJJ lady and you haven’t s!gned 0p for Lethal Ladies yet you’re missing out !!! @lethalladiesbjj 💃

Fundamentals 101 in BJJ. Don’t defend your guard by trying to push your opponent off or pushing in their hip. ❌

Instead make frames and block your opponent a near arm while you move your hips. ✅

because I have control of the arm, I can easily switch to a powerful open guard . Here I transition straight do I sweep from a spider guard variation 🙌

I show you how in @LethalLadiesBJJ. Come jo!n the community!

In this video, I highlight one of the biggest mistakes people make while defending their guard.
If you are trying to push your opponent and especially push on the hips, it’s only a matter of time before you get completely squashed.😩

The focus is on blocking your opponents arm. That’s trying to wrap your head. Once you make your frame, you can start getting your legs in the game.

if you’re a smaller practitioner or a female practitioner, these fundamental frames are absolutely essential. Without them you’ll end up being squashed, feeling hopeless and wanting to quit.

In my online platform Lethal Ladies I have a whole section gear towards fundamental framing where the focus is on structure and leverage without using any strength to prevent you from getting squashed.

In Lethal Ladies last week, I taught stack past variations all week.
I used to hate stack passes, but I was doing them all wrong!!! 😩 It’s because I was trying to lift my opponent’s strong leg over my shoulder and failed every time.

Here is an example where to use leverage instead of arm strength to try and get their leg up.
Take a look at how I am always on my feet instead of my knees, of how staple gun to stabilize and watch how I finish the pass. 🙌
check out lethal ladies for a plethora of finely tuned techniques where I share all the details that make the difference. 💃 @lethalladiesbjj

Passing ‘leggy’ guards is so tough. Here is an option with the back step to clear the legs. But take a look at my grips which I have highlighted with the pointing. 👀 @lethalladiesbjj
What’s one of your fave ways to pass a leggy guard?

Here is an epic set up for a triangle from lasso spider guard. I often switch from side to side to get my opponent off balance and then the triangle set up comes easily. 👌
Take a look at this awesome set up and let me know what you think !

Here are some cool moves to do from the Lasoo Guard. You can swim under and do an Omoplata or if they roll you can turn it into an Arm Bar!

The key is to grab their collar and then extend your legs and make your legs very heavy to push them all the way down to the floor 👍
We are rocking in our @fujisportsus gis 🙌 @lethalladiesbjj

Some people are super nimble and when you sweep them but they just step over it like it’s nothing. What do you do? 🤔💭
here is a great sweep from Spider Guard when they step over your initial sweep. This takes a bit of practice, so make sure you are driving all your weight through your opponent’s biceps with the spider guard.

More awesome sweeps like this in Lethal Ladies in the LIVE Classes, Drills, and Spider Guard course.
