POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

She’s helped us make houses feel like home, but her place in our lives has grown well beyond staging our projects. Between work, family, and the personal projects we’re always dreaming up, she’s woven into so many parts of our life and we feel lucky to know her.

Now we get to celebrate something of hers. 🤍

She’s been all in on Smiths Grove for a long time. She sees what’s possible here and keeps giving people reasons to see it, too. Bringing Indigo Fox and Ace Coffee together gives people one more reason to head downtown and linger a little longer.

I grew up in downtown Smiths Grove. These streets hold a lot of my childhood, and there’s something pretty special about watching people help write its next chapter. I hope it includes a lot of coffee dates, full shopping bags, and “let’s stop in one more place.”

Come join ✨Kellie✨ and crew this Friday for shopping, coffee, and a celebration of someone who’s given us plenty to celebrate. Details are on the invite!

And if you’ve been imagining your own little spot on Main Street, we have commercial space available. I’d love to show you around. 😉

31 days. 5,740 miles. 25 states. 1 canadian province. 4 national parks. Only 2 days of rain. And a million memories.

Jacq and I have had this trip planned for years. She caught up to me on all the states I had her beat on back in 2021. After that we came up with this grand scheme to see the rest of the lower 48 together side by side on our bikes. We initially wanted to cross off ALL the eastern states over the span of 2 months. Then we decided to split it in half and just tackle the North East in 1 month.

Motorcycles are truly the best way to see and experience places you have never been. The slower pace, the frequent stops, being IN the scenery as opposed to watching it go by. Riding through all these new (to us) places was incredible. I really feel like we got to absorb the culture on the east coast and fully soak it all in. We will certainly be back to see the new friends we have made and to conquer things we didn’t have time to do this trip. (Mt. Washington😈)

40 total states we have crossed through on these custom motorcycles of ours and we wouldn’t trade em for anything! Step out of your comfort zone. Figure it out as you go. Live life the way you want. Any bike is a touring bike if you tour on it. Thank you to everyone who offered us a place to crash and advice on sights to see along the way!

The night before we were originally scheduled to record this conversation, @leticiacline was involved in a horrific car accident. An experience that gave her an entirely new perspective on how quickly life can change.

In this episode, we talk about the accident and what it taught her about living fully, along with her journey through motorcycles, racing, journalism, entrepreneurship, and her work rebuilding and investing in her hometown of Cave City, Kentucky.

Dementia took my grandma Stella a little at a time.

Music gave her back.

Not metaphorically. Actually.

You could watch it happen.

A song would start and somehow it could reach a part of her that the disease hadn’t figured out how to. Her face changed. The words came back. Stella Mae was my grandma again.

This is us singing Mule Skinner Blues. A song I’ve sung for as long as I can remember. I’m not a good singer. That was never the point.

No pill a doctor prescribed could do what an old song could do for her.

And maybe that’s why Dolly Parton’s death today feels connected to this video for me.

Women like @dollyparton . Women like Stella. Strong women who came from places where music wasn’t just another way to tell your story. It was also your inheritance.

They worked. They built things. They spoke their minds. They could be soft without being weak and strong without asking permission. They knew where they came from without believing they had to stay there.

We learn the songs from women like that.

Then one day, we realize the songs weren’t the only thing they taught us.

We’re the ones left singing them.

And if we’re lucky, we carry a little of the women who taught us how.
