A discovery !
One of my neighbors found these beads in jars buried in a beach, near Busua, in Ghana. Presumably a ritual. Is it ancient?
I am enclosing photos of some of the raw and cleaned beads.
They are made of stone, it seems. Granite (?) for small white and black.
Ochres look like carnelian.
Do you have any idea where they came from?
What is amazing is their appearance so smooth that it seems manufactured.
A mystery!
Thank you for your insights and guidance.
We are in touch with ghanaians archeologists
Ghana is really the country where beads are singing...

REPOST @lets_embracelets

“The stars shine brightest when the moon is gone.

Nigerian proverb

These dark times, presenting a bracelet with star beads. The iconic trade beads: Venetian made Chevrons. Four layers of glass, white, blue and red, put in a star shaped mould. The bracelet has nicely rounded beads, plus beads that were probably sliced in Africa. With weathered white hearts for contrast and an Afghan silver bead. SOLD. Etsy shop: see link in bio @lets_embracelets “

If you’re looking for GORGEOUS handmade jewelry from an incredible shop that works with all sorts of trade beads, @lets_embracelets has everything your trade bead dreams are made of!🤤

”My beads room isnt a messy i just have everything on display...” 😙
(Actually working in a brass-glass-Mali beads curtain.).
Beyond ig...
While strolling on the net, I often see beads workshops, tidy, organized. I am totally incapable of it! I need to see and do at the same time. My dream is a very large workshop with one table per color, in which I would move around according to my inspirations.
And you, how do you create?

Antropo-Archeology (🇫🇷 version 👇) ... 10 years ago, doing work at Busua Inn, on the ground, we had updated a treasure. Look at all these old beads, Ghana, Murano, Bohemian. What happiness was and is still looking at these witnesses and small pieces of history. I often replicate in these beads, they murmur me some stories ...@thesingingbeads @busuainn_ezilebay

A new project of suncatcher on our workshop by the sea in the bush @busuainn_ezilebay. Tribute to Cape 3 points forest.
We are so happy to be at Ezile Bay. Perfect beading (and much more) place. We found a lot of shell, wood, seeds around.
