What is one piece of advice you wish you had received as a new mom or the best advice you were given as you started your journey into Motherhood?

This week is maternal mental health week. This is such an important topic that I believe deserves a lot more attention and discussion. We are failing new moms in our society and there has been a huge increase in perinatal and postpartum mood disorders in recent years.

I’d love to start this week off with some reflection on our own motherhood journeys and some words of wisdom for any new Mom’s who may find themselves struggling.

💜 Trip to Ottawa 💜

2 years ago, we went on a 4 day trip to Ottawa with our then 2 year old.

This was the first big trip we did since lockdown ended. We were very excited and ready for a change of scenery. Here is what I recommend for a trip to Ottawa with a toddler.

👀 See:
🍩 Byward market - You can't go to Ottawa without seeing the downtown market. The beaver tails were a big hit too.
💦 Rideau canal - if your kid is still willing to go in a stroller or wagon, go for a walk around the canal and take in the scenery.
🛩️ Canada Aviation and Space Museum - this was super exciting for Henry. He loved the huge colourful planes.
🏖️ Mooney's Bay - beautiful beach, huge playground and you can combine it with a ride on a pirate ship (book tickets to Pirate Life ahead of time)
🐑 Valleyview Little Animal Farm - Cute farm with a bunch of animals and a train ride that goes around the field

✖️ Skip:
🚜 Canada Agriculture and Food Museum - most of the exhibits were advanced and educational so it may be appreciated by older kids. Henry also threw a fit seeing cows being hooked up to milking machines and that is etched in my brain too. 😳

Boy oh boy! I love a community that shows up and elevates my vision, and you definitely did just that!

The orders were slammed! @iamdjfusion threw it down! The dance moves were on point, and most importantly the vibes were off the hook.

If this event didn’t scream ‘Throw Back’ I apologize for failing you, but from what I could see behind the bar, you had a crazy time and threw it back old school style and I loved watching every minute of it!
