This is ā€œEverythingā€ my most beloved spread from Ocean of Stars, now moving and breathing in ways I could never have imagined when the story first began. Thereā€™s something almost magical about seeing a still world come alive. And perhaps something quietly familiar, too. After all, we inhabit a universe that is never truly still. The beautiful, improbable labor of making something that has never existed before. 200 sketches. 100 storyboards. 52 paintbrushes. One magnificent 90 Ɨ 55.6-inch painting set to the golden ratio. These are some of the numbers behind @rebeccarebouche ā€œEverythingā€ spread in Ocean of Stars. Written by Azita Ardakani. Every creature, every branch, every tiny constellation began with a brushstroke. Then @levankvan spent another 25 hours carefully separating the artwork into layers in Photoshop, finding ways to give movement to what had until now lived entirely on the page. In an age when images can be generated in seconds, thereā€™s something profoundly moving about the patience, skill, flesh and life to create. Not simply the finished image, but the thousands of decisions, gestures, and moments of attention that made it possible. WELCOME to my world, where human hands and imagination make the magic. No AI here! If youā€™re new, come along for the rideā€¦itā€™s only going to get more curious. I spent over four months creating this painting in oil on wood, then sent a digital image to my brilliant animator, @levankvan He carefully separated the artwork into about 400 layers using Photoshop, then brought my characters to life in Adobe After Effects using puppet pins, turbulent displacement and other animation tools. Finally, he added camera movement and visual overlays in Premiere Pro. Every stage takes skill, patience and a wonderful eye for movement. It might look too extraordinary to be true, but every detail began with a brushstroke, and every movement was carefully crafted. Two artists, our imaginations, and a great deal of work. If it makes you smile, please let us know but giving it a like, a comment or a share. This really makes it all worth it and a thank you in advance. And now, the storyā€¦ šŸƒ Was I dreamingā€¦? I couldnā€™t tell. Below my bedroom window paraded a tree shaped like a bear, a dog on wheels, memories and munchkins, a knight on a splendidly dressed horseā€¦ and a crocodile wearing a rabbit as a hat. I packed my bag and quietly followed, expecting to wake at any moment. Then a parquin in a red stripy tunic and straw boater turned to me. ā€œHurry along now. Weā€™re running late.ā€ šŸ‚
