A LITTLE REINTRODUCTION…👋💕

As summer 🌻begins to draw to a close—and with quite a few new faces joining me here recently—it felt like a lovely moment to reintroduce myself and share a little of the story behind @theforever_curates

I’m Karen Thomas, founder and curator.

Before moving into the art world, I spent more than 20 years working in luxury fashion—an experience that continues to shape my eye, my approach to curation and, of course, my enduring love of colour. You’ll still usually find me in a wonderfully bright outfit somewhere along the way! 🌈🤡👗💃

I officially launched The Forever Curates website in July 2025. Since then, the business has naturally evolved, with representing and championing contemporary artists becoming its beating heart.

Today, The Forever Curates moves between carefully curated online collections, characterful pop-up exhibitions and creative collaborations—all united by a belief in the transformative power of living with original and joyful art.

Earlier this year, after 30 years in London, I relocated to Bruton with my husband and daughter, marking a new chapter for both our family and the business. While I continue to work between London and Somerset, becoming part of Bruton’s wonderfully creative community has already been incredibly special.

And now, an exceptionally busy autumn lies ahead…

I’ll be launching The Capsule Edit at @smouk_interiors —a bricks-and-mortar collection of original artworks priced under £400—followed by two new group exhibitions: GATHERED at @bruton_townhouse and COMPANIONS, a deeply personal celebration of our connection with animals at @thisishost in Leyton, London 😻🐶

Whether you’ve been here from the very beginning or have only just joined the journey, thank you for following, supporting and coming along for the ride. It truly means such a great deal. 🙏🤗🥰

Here’s to a new season filled with art, colour and plenty of exciting things ahead. 👏

Well… this feels a bit surreal 🥹💗

The room I started decorating just two months after losing my husband is now a finalist for Best Nursery/ kid’s room at the @ufurnishcom interiors awards.

At the time, an interiors award couldn’t have been further from my mind. I was just desperately trying to find little pockets of happiness in a life that suddenly felt incredibly dark and create somewhere joyful and safe for my little girl.

What I didn’t realise was how much I needed it too.

It gave me something to focus on, something to get excited about and, with a LOT of help from some very special friends, little glimmers of hope when I really needed them.

And somehow I’ve made it here (wtf) 😳

I need to say the BIGGEST thank you to every single person who took the time to vote for me. Your votes played a huge part in getting me here and I’m so, so grateful.

But apparently you lot REALLY showed up 😂😭 because I’ve now found out that SO many of you voted that I’m ALSO a finalist for their brand new Overall Public Vote Award, recognising those who received the highest number of public votes across the awards.

That one really is because of YOU 😭💗

And when I think about everything that sits behind this room, I think about Theo, my girls, my incredible friends, everything that was lost and everything we’ve rebuilt.

But I also think about you lot. This online community who somehow became part of my real life. So many of you have spoken to me, checked in on me, supported me and quite honestly helped carry me through some of the hardest days.

And now you’ve gone and done this too 🥹

That means more than I’ll ever be able to properly put into words.

What a bloody journey.

October… here we come 🤞🏼💗

I love nothing better than a peek into other peoples homes. As a family, we LOVE to collect beautiful artworks and craft items, so thought it might be something you like to see too… Here are just a few of them…

Swipe for caption details on each piece 💕
I’ve saved one of my VERY favourites for the end….

Edit- so many messages so just adding, the first piece is one of mine - dm me to chat commissions or available work x

This amazing piece by @oilsbyolive was a gift from my husband. I’m obsessed with her work and would happily buy every piece she ever posts.

I love @meredithadams_ceramics pieces so much and have a few of them. I walked down to aisle to ‘Into My Arms’ by Nick Cave, so this one is my fave.

Again, I think we could buy every piece by @tom.h.morris . This one is yet to be framed but it’s already a favourite. He’s SUCH a talent and has some beautiful works available with @milieu.studios - worth a look.

This commissioned piece by @meredithaowen was a wedding gift from my mum, so it’s very special to us. I love all of her artworks- her style is so distinctive and unique.

I love @_rosiegore_ pieces and have a few of them. We use this one for fruit, which might be sacrilege - as it’s so beautiful- but I want to have it out and in use every day.

This piece is by @jasonwalker070, who is just the most incredible artist. We have a few pieces by him- including some commissioned portraits of our children. He’s sooo skilled and his work is just beautiful.

I gave my husband this pair of swans by @jasmine_hornby at Christmas. They’re so sweet and she’s so talented- I love her cowboy boots vases too. She has some pieces available with lovely @emuplops , if you wanted a look.

Such a beautiful piece by @juliaflorenceartist

A place close to our heart, featuring my husband’s little fishing boat- by wonderful @lizzieblackartist

The first artwork we bought for our home, years ago now. It completely stands the test of time. Three Square by Sandra Blow, from @georgiastoneman

I love how she uses different woods to create such unique artworks. Mirror by @chelsea_vivash

A birthday gift from my lovely friends, by @where.theres.mud.
