It was a while ago now, and as usual, I’m late. I feel truly grateful to have participated in a collaborative film created during the Experimental and Personal Filmmaking masterclass, led by @rouzbehrashidicinema and organised by @tehran.contemporary.sounds.

TCS Cinema Screening – The Exquisite Corpse Project
📅 Sunday, 23 November | 18:00
📍 Kino Moviemento, Berlin

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who applied for the TCS Cinema Masterclass. The response was truly overwhelming, and we regret that we couldn’t accommodate everyone this time. We hope to offer this programme again in the near future to continue expanding this collective experiment in cinema.

The opening screening of the TCS film programme will present the world premiere of the collaborative film created during the two-day TCS Cinema Masterclass, co-hosted by EFS Film School (Experimental Film Society) and Tehran Contemporary Sounds (TCS).

At the time of writing, this film does not yet exist; its very absence is the enigma it advances. Conceived as an event rather than a prefabricated object, it will come to life within an intensive two-day masterclass led by Rouzbeh Rashidi.
Participants will explore cinema as a form of perception and memory, devising and assembling a collaborative work that will make its first appearance in this screening.

The film arrives not as a finished artefact but as the trace of its own becoming — a moment of collective creation unfolding in real time.
All participating filmmakers will be present for an extended discussion and Q&A, continuing the same spirit of openness, reflection, and experimentation that shaped the work.

The artists selected for the course and who will be the creators of the Exquisite Corpse are:

Laura Shirin
Rachel Micallef Somerville
Zohreh Fazli
Stella Horta
Leyla Rodriguez
Camille Guitard
Ava Jalali
Naz Temizdemir
Dina Vainchtein
Mahsa Rostami
Lagha Ghavam
Ciaran Shanahan
Daniela Lucato
Marie Caroline Gippert
Ana Robledo Balvanera

PROGRAMME ANNOUNCEMENT: INSTALLATION

Saturday 6th September
* 10:30 - 18:00 | Celluloid Dream Path | Leyla Rodriguez | Argentina
Moving Image Installation | 30 min, looped
Room 1 / Barrack Block

In her short films, Leyla Rodriguez comes up with many-layered sequences on identity. In many cases, penetrating mises-en-scène are assembled, creating the character of dynamic collages. Ahistorical, multiply ambiguous, symbolically charged images suggest narratives that are not redeemed.
