Every person brings something unique to the table. The real work is recognizing it, listening wholeheartedly to each idea, and then helping people hear each other out. True collaboration starts with the project’s leadership. If they aren’t collaborative, no one will follow suit. It’s refreshing to be working with a team of true collaborators, and I am so grateful our trails have crossed! I try to learn something new every day. And the entire @atypikal.co team have taught me that getting good people to work together is a director’s greatest strength.

So when you can nudge people in the right direction, find common ground, balance the give and take, and let the best idea win, the outcome gets refined at every step. The work becomes its best. When everyone’s locked in, communicating, listening, tweaking, refining, the strongest ideas finally get to stretch their legs and grow into great stories.

Here’s to teams that make each other better. Every project. Every time.

Songs of Contempt is a compendium of a specific kind of anger, songs that are about that person: the unforgivable one, the one who truly and irreparably fucked you over. Not only do you hope to never see them again, but you get a spark of delight in hearing about their misfortune 👿 link in bio
