Sometimes you have to wait. For the girl. For the race. For the ticket. For the chance to dance.

It feels like I’ve been waiting since UTMB 2023. There has been a lot of good since then, but also a lot of races that left me unsatisfied.

A lot of work that didn’t quite add up (yet). Seventh at TGC. Appendicitis before Hardrock. A cranky knee, a scary MRI report, and a surgery. Missed Canyons, but found a groove and made it to Hardrock. Finished fifth, grateful, but hungry. Trained hard. Won @devil_on_the_divide . Went to Worlds. Ran strong, not great. Still hungry. Went back to PA and won Call of The Wilds 50k. Felt the magic of the sport again. Won a turkey trot. Knee got cranky. Bailed on Tarawera. Got married instead. Re-strategized training. Lowered run volume. Lapped Leeway with @elchristopherjones . Rode the bike. Built the house (still going). Sat in the sauna. Signed up for Canyons.

One race. One shot. @adampeterman_ , a re-match with @hawks_hayden , and a bunch of up and comers whom I totally considered a threat (cause they are).

Honestly, I wasn’t sure I had this sort of race in me anymore. I’ve been pretty deep in the big, long, mountain game. Nine years since my last TNF 50, ten since my last win there. How did we run that fast? And the sport has evolved. People fuel now. And do threshold. And heat train. Honestly, it’s not all new stuff. But it feels more focused. More serious. More dialed. Where do I land in all that? Is the sport faster? Am I slower? Can I still hang? Will my knee and hip even hold up?

Only one way to find out: put yourself in it and see if it sticks. @moises.jimenez told me to believe. I toed the line, took the first stride, and kept going. I felt good, then not so much. But @hawks_hayden caught me and I chose to try. And there it was, the magic of competition. He fought. I fought. We chased @adampeterman_ and @canhualuo824 . It was a race all the way home. I like to think we brought out the best in each other. And at the finish? Well, I got the ticket, my girl, and a chance to dance. See you at States!

Big win in the season opener! Super excited to get the victory at the @teambaa Mile last weekend. With the marathon going on, the energy was electric, and it meant a lot to take the win in such a strong field.

Pumped to line up for the Penn Relays Mile this Saturday at 1:37 pm.

Thanks for all the support! I heard so many people shout my name during the race that Boston felt like a home crowd!

Thank you Boston, for bringing me closer to myself and those around me year after year 🥹🦄💙

Thank you @ameyaokamoto for trusting me to coach you to a massive PR from training to race day. I can’t tell you what it means to me for both of us to have grown tremendously as athletes and people through this experience. I mean it wholeheartedly every time I tell you I’m proud of you.

I have lots more to say soon, but for now, just know that running and connection change us… Not just once, but through as many evolutions as we welcome.

Beaming with love and gratitude and pride and joy!!! And can’t shake the feeling that we’re just getting started!! Xoxoxo congrats to everyone who stepped on that start line and my full support to everyone who aspires to 🫂

WE DID IT ‼️ 2:16:58 at CIM

I’ve spent three years wondering if my best marathon days were behind me, and man this weekend felt good. I couldn’t be happier and more than anything I’m grateful.

I did miss the OTQ (by about a minute) but at this point I don’t care because I’m not done. My best days aren’t behind me. And it feels really good to finally say that.

A special thank you to Mica, she’s been in this fight with me every step of the way. And thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way I’m lucky to have have you. #bettertogether

I’m sure you’ve heard from a few different interviews, but Christmas came early for me this year. Yesterday morning, I ran over 2 minutes under the standard & qualified for the 2028 USA Marathon Olympic Trials, PR’d in the marathon by over 9 minutes, and most essentially, gained an even brighter testimony of God. My agent called me months ago and told me he wanted me to step back into the marathon. Well, I didn’t want to because I hit the wall hard at the Berlin Marathon and had a blockage in my brain of never racing another marathon. I had fell in love after qualifying for the 1500m trials the year later, and didn’t want to do anything else. I prayed about it, then jumped back into marathon training with Faith. I remember asking God at mile 23, “If it be Thy Will, help me cross the line to help bring Glory and Build Your Kingdom.” Mile 23 in Berlin was where I hit an unforgiving wall. So I went into this year with wanting to defeat that with my inner child. The race surprisingly didn’t feel that hard yesterday, because I know I had many pairs of extra legs running with me(a team of angels from the other side), a plan that only God Himself, could orchestrate so perfectly. I felt the Spirit of my Heavenly Angels, also specifically 2 of which were my friends who passed away, and my dad was there. I also had an amazing pack that I was in throughout this race and we executed it perfectly. The weather could have not been better. And I had many friends who drove from Utah to support me. I went from fearing the marathon to now currently in preparation to represent it on one of the biggest stages in the world, the Olympic Trials. I’m so grateful to God and it’s insane what happens when you work together with your group, stay patient and trust in God and enjoy the process instead of just wanting for the result. I have a special and sacred testimony that I know that the Saviour lives, and the Spirit World exists, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Now it’s time to plan next year’s season. Lots to come.💜 Now that my ticket is punched in the Marathon Trials, the goal is now to actually make an Olympic Team. I will also try and qualify on the Track this upcoming year as well.
