Pariser Eleganz oder rohe Clubkultur? Wieso entscheiden, wenn man beides haben kann: Mit dem neuen Doppelabend der @operamrhein @ballettamrhein prallen ab dem 30. Oktober zwei Giganten des zeitgenössischen Tanzes aufeinander: @william_forsythe_ und @sharoneyaldance!

Den Auftakt macht Forsythes ikonisches Meisterwerk „In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated“, welches bereits 1987 für das Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris kreiert wurde. Hier wird klassische Ballett-Virtuosität radikal neu gedacht: Achsen verschieben sich, Formen beschleunigen und das vertraute Vokabular wird an seine absoluten Grenzen getrieben – roh, überraschend und durch und durch elektrisierend.

Direkt im Anschluss folgt Eyals und Gai Behars hypnotisches Stück „Strong“. Getrieben von pulsierenden Techno-Beats des Komponisten Ori @lichtik wirkt die Kompanie wie frisch aus einem Club entsprungen. Zwischen eiserner Kontrolle und ekstatischem Verlangen entsteht eine traumhafte Welt, die zart und gewaltig zugleich ist. Ein Abend über Intensität, Mut und die Faszination des menschlichen Körpers.

אורי ליכטיק נע בין עולמות מוזיקליים מגוונים — ממועדוני אנדרגראונד ומסיבות רייב ועד לבמות הגדולות ובתי האופרה ברחבי העולם. ביצירתו הוא מחבר בין טכנו, מוזיקה תעשייתית, היפ הופ וניו ווייב, ומשלב תיפוף חי, הקלטות שטח, צלילים מהסביבה וטקסטורות אלקטרוניות לכדי שפה מוזיקלית ייחודית, גולמית ואורגנית.
שיתף פעולה עם הכוריאוגרפית שרון אייל וגיא בכר. המוזיקה שלו מלווה את התנועה ואף מחוללת אותה, וממשיכה להגיע לבמות של להקות מחול ומוסדות אמנות מובילים בעולם, בהם להקת בת שבע, Nederlands Dans Theater ובית האופרה של פריז.

Rea Mochiach - Man and Machine. Live
רֵעַ מוכיח הוא מוזיקאי, יוצר, מלחין, נגן ומפיק מוזיקלי ישראלי. פעיל בעיקר בתחום הג'אז, רוק ומוזיקה אלקטרונית. מנגן בכלים רבים, כמו גיטרה, בס, תופים, קלידים ועוד. מראשוני היוצרים בישראל ששילבו שימוש בסמפלר ביצירתם.
הוא שיתף פעולה בין היתר עם ברי סחרוף, ג'וני שועלי, אסף אמדורסקי, מאור כהן, יהלי סובול, יהודית רביץ ושלומי שבן, ועם הלהקות באלגן, "רעש", ו"זקני צפת", התחיל לתופף כנער ואף היה המתופף של מאיר אריאל בגיל 15.5 ב"מסע הבחירות של מאיר אריאל ".
במופע יבצע קטעים חדשים העוסקים בפירוק והרכבה מחדש.

גיאגיא - גיא בנני הוא מוזיקאי ויוצר עצמאי ישראלי, המזוהה עם סצנת האינדי והלו-פיי (Lo-Fi) , רוק אלטרנטיבי, פאנק, אינדי-פוסט פאנק, השפעות מהיפ-הופ חדש והומור שחור.

רן סלוין הוא אמן רב תחומי ישראלי בתחום הווידאו והסאונד. יוצר מיצבי וידאו, סרטי אנימציה תלת־ממדיים, מוזיקת קלאב ניסיונית ומופעי סאונד. בנועוריו החל לעסוק במוזיקה. בין השנים 1986-1982 התגורר בלונדון, בריטניה, שם למד אמנות וניגן בלהקת רוק מקומית. עם שובו לישראל נרשם ללימודי אמנות ב"בצלאל" והקים את הלהקות "3 ח'" ו"ריר".

From raves to the stage — Ori Lichtik has been shaping sound, rhythm and movement for almost three decades. His musical language moves freely between electronic music, drums, field recordings, found sounds, contemporary performance and composition — raw, instinctive and unconstrained by genre.

His music has become part of productions for international dance companies, opera houses and interdisciplinary stages around the world, including projects with @sharoneyaldance and Circa @circapresents , Nederlands Dans Theater @ndtdance , Paris Opera Ballet @parisoperaballet , the Royal Swedish Ballet @royalswedishballet and Staatsballett Berlin @staatsballettberlin .

In his work for the stage, sound becomes physical — driving bodies, shaping space and constantly evolving through movement.

It has been a privilege to welcome @sharoneyaldance to Basel, working closely with our dancers as she brought her unique spirit and energy to ‹Bedroom Folk› — performed in Switzerland for the very first time.

At the same time, @marcogoecke has created a Basel version of his current interpretation of ‹Le Sacre du printemps› from 2025. The @sinfonieorchesterbasel , under the direction of @thomasherzogconductor , brings Stravinsky’s legendary score to life.

We are so happy, grateful, and proud to finally present them to our audience. Tonight, the journey continues on stage. We wish everybody a heartfelt TOI TOI TOI!

‹Eyal/Goecke› - three days to go

With ‹Bedroom Folk›, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar created a cult classic of the contemporary dance scene for Nederlands Dans Theater 1 in 2015.
Set to the driving electronic soundscapes of Ori Lichtik, the company moves as a single organism: precisely synchronized, physical, obsessive. The smallest gestures coalesce into a pulsating stream of movement that oscillates between techno-inspired ecstasy and archaic power.
Eyal’s distinctive movement language transforms the body into a resonating space for rhythm, emotion, and collective energy.
“Bedroom Folk” is part of the double bill “Eyal/Goecke”: two contemporary choreographic icons come together in an evening that blurs the lines between ecstasy and ritual, form and emotion, techno and Stravinsky.

Mit Bedroom Folk schuf Sharon Eyal gemeinsam mit Gai Behar 2015 für Nederlands Dans Theater 1 ein Kultstück der zeitgenössischen Tanzszene.
Zu den treibenden elektronischen Klangwelten von Ori Lichtik bewegt sich die Compagnie wie ein einziger Organismus: präzise synchron, körperlich, obsessiv. Kleinste Gesten verdichten sich zu einem pulsierenden Bewegungsstrom zwischen technoider Ekstase und archaischer Kraft.
Eyals charakteristische Bewegungssprache macht den Körper zum Resonanzraum für Rhythmus, Emotion und kollektive Energie.
Bedroom Folk ist Teil des Doppelabends «Eyal/Goecke»: Zwei choreographische Ikonen der Gegenwart begegnen sich in einem Abend zwischen Rausch und Ritual, Form und Emotion, Techno und Strawinsky.
