Filtering pigment through socks in the Saudi desert.

One of the more niche jobs I’ve ended up doing while producing work for artists over the years.

This was during a project with @david_popa_art in AlUla. We were working with natural pigments on site and, as usual, the practical reality of making something ambitious was considerably stranger than anything written in the production plan.

I love this photo because it sums up a lot of what I enjoy about the work. You can spend months planning a project, but at some point you are usually standing somewhere unexpected solving a problem nobody predicted.

That combination of creative understanding and practical resourcefulness is a big part of what sits behind Nonesuch now.

New Public Turns Two! 🥂

Last night we celebrated two years of New Public at the extraordinary @maisoncolbert

Since launching in 2023, we’ve worked with an incredible roster of artists including @anickayi_studio, @philipcolbert, @colbertcharlotte, @yinka_ilori, @chilaburman, @nellybenhayounstudios, @chihulystudio, @sophieteaart to name a few - alongside visionary partners who share our belief in the power of art to activate and inspire public space.

From curating iconic London destinations including Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and @batterseapwrstn - to recently transforming @boroughyards into a surreal lobster universe with 'Lobster Yards', an interior ceramics and exterior public realm programme at @fulham.pier, and commissioning permanent site-specific works for 1 Triton Square @regentsplace - every project is our mission in action: art for all, in the places we live, work and gather.

A heartfelt thank you to @philipcolbert & @colbertcharlotte and team for opening the doors of Maison Colbert and hosting our celebration - and to all the artists, clients and collaborators who’ve shaped our story so far.

Here’s to many more years!
From everyone at New Public

Our installation in @kingscrossn1c was chosen as a key highlight by @bbclondon and was seen across so many of our socials! A joy and a tribute to the hard work of the Argent team, @lizweststudio and our b to b team. As we get into the colder months of the year, chromotherapy in our grey urban spaces feels utterly needed 🤍

LONDON Drawing inspiration from the light and joy that define the festive season, West reinterprets these themes through a contemporary, 10.7-metre tree that will become a focal point for visitors to King’s Cross from 13 November 2024 until February 2025.

The installation’s distinctive structure, an elongated tetrahedron, will be adorned with bold stripes of fluorescent neon colours, contrasted with monochromatic tones. The diagonal lines of colour intersect across the tree, encouraging people to move around the space to explore how the colours connect and change from different angles – offering an experience that is dynamic and visually engaging in all conditions.

We unveiled “It’s Not About Winning,” a series of four major public art installations by @mtartagency artist @robertmontgomeryghost, set across iconic sites—Wembley Stadium, Principality Stadium, the University of Stirling’s swimming pool, and the Ulster Boxing High Performance Centre at Ulster University. These installations honor the incredible accomplishments of seven ‘Game Changers’ in sports: women’s football trailblazer Baroness Sue Campbell, ParalympicGB’s most decorated athlete Dame Sarah Storey, parkrun founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt, Alice Dearing—Team GB’s first Black Olympic swimmer and Black Swimming Association founder—and celebrated coaches Steven Tigg, Damian Kennedy, and Stephen Jones, who have shaped Scottish swimming, Northern Ireland boxing, and Welsh wheelchair rugby league, respectively. This project, brought to life with @mtartagency Agency for National Lottery Good Causes, celebrates the power of sport to connect people, bridge divides, and inspire humanity.
