✨ I’m Still on Cloud 9 ✨

I can’t stop smiling. Two months ago, my team and I decided to host our very first fundraiser with no prior experience in fundraising. No fancy blueprint. Just a vision, grit, and heart.

In those eight weeks, we learned how to:
📩 Reach out to sponsors and partners
💌 Send invites and rally community support
🤝 Secure donations and in-kind gifts
📝 Host board meetings and make bold decisions

And on Sunday night… we pulled it off. 🎉
Our Sneaker Ball Fundraiser was a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when purpose meets community.

We have been friends since @mcmainmustangs, more than 30 years ago! I had so much fun with the birthday brunch bunch👏🏽😂. We stopped by @justinisnola for a celebration toast and had the best time.

It’s National Rainbow Baby Day. Today and every other day, we are celebrating our living children and honoring our children who have died. It will always hurt that our dead children aren’t here. We’re all parenting our living children the best we can while remembering our dead children.

We love and support everyone who has reason to remember National Rainbow Day, however they choose to honor it. Even if that means hating the term Rainbow Baby.

Don’t compare grief. Especially not vocally. Just don’t do it.
We all have a different grief experience and it can be extremely insensitive to speak to others about theirs with the expectation that it must be similar to yours. No one person experiences trauma, tragedy, or grief in the same way.

Supporters, approach grievers with an open mind and heart. Have zero expectations for where they should be in their grief journey or how they should be “handling it”. Let’s strive to just listen, validate, and support. For we are all in different stages and kinds of grief.
