🚒 Monthly Meeting + Training Night 🚁

Last night, St. Joseph Fire & Rescue gathered for our monthly business meeting and training night.

As always, the evening started with a great meal prepared by our own Alpha Company before we moved into our monthly business meeting.

After the meeting, members participated in a helicopter landing zone (LZ) training. The classroom portion covered the importance of establishing a safe and secure landing zone, radio communications, scene safety, helicopter operations, and proper loading and unloading procedures.

The highlight of the evening was welcoming Life Link III to our baseball fields near the station for a live helicopter landing. Seeing the aircraft arrive and having the opportunity to work alongside the crew provided invaluable hands-on experience for our members.

This training was especially beneficial for our newest firefighters and EMRs, and we were excited to have several family members join us to witness the helicopter land and learn more about what goes into these operations.

A huge thank you to the crew of Life Link III for taking the time to train with us and helping ensure we’re always prepared to provide the safest and best care possible when every second counts.

Our final camp of the year has officially came to an end tonight. 🛬

Two camps, in two weeks, 64 students, tours, flights, bus rides, games, it all goes so quick! ⏩

From learning about drone operations in agricultural applications, airline maintenance, dispatch, air traffic control, airport police and fire departments, flying gliders, planes and even helicopters, our students did it all! 👏

Thank you to the parents, friends, and mentors that helped guide and support these students to camp and beyond in their future aviation careers! 👩‍✈️🧑🏼‍✈️

Big thanks to our all of our partners, speakers, and donors that help make camp as successful as it is. We truly couldn’t do camp without you! ❤️

We also couldn’t pull off camp without our team of dedicated volunteers that have donated their precious time away from their own families and careers to help guide and mentor our students during the week! 🧑🏼‍✈️👷‍♀️👨‍🚀👨‍🏭👨‍🔧👩‍🏫

Even though camps are done for the year, we are still planning to make things even better for next year! 🎉

Still thinking about what an incredible day this year's Swing Fore Charity Golf Tournament was!

The 20th Annual Swing Fore Charity Golf Tournament was one for the books, and this year’s highlights video shows just how much this day means to our community.

Together, we raised more than $100,000 for the Public Safety Foundation, directly supporting Community Outposts, scholarships for individuals pursuing careers as first responders, and wellness programs designed for police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel. The impact behind every swing this year reaches far beyond the golf course and into the lives of those who serve and protect us every day.

But what makes this event truly special is everything happening in between the fundraising. From early morning tee offs to friendly competition on the course, to the energy at every hole, the day was filled with connection, laughter, and a shared sense of purpose. This video captures those moments that remind us why this tournament continues to grow year after year.

We are incredibly grateful to every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who made the day possible. Your generosity and presence help turn a great event into meaningful, lasting impact for first responders and their families.
