10 years ago I stepped out of the shower to find my apartment complex on fire. I lived at the very end of the third floor, with the fire emanating from the next apartment, blocking my exit. I threw my dog out of a window and tried to climb down on my own. We both made it out okay.

Since then I’ve given up on rock bands, learned more creative skills than I can monetize, worked at a pet store, became a bartender, tried designing t-shirts, developed and learned to control anger issues, did some music for a few short films and indie video games, started working on my own video game, adopted two handsome cats, met the love of my life (@lifewithbmaw), and all while my dog, Roslyn, enjoys an 11th year of life, happy and healthy.

I’m not sure where my life would have lead had this not happened to me, but I’m happy to still be here :)

2024 just about broke me, but it also reminded me how lucky I am to have people that will always help put me back together. I owe it all to my friends for bringing me back to life this year and making new memories that made it worth living. Here’s to all the good things waiting in 2025.

Not pictured, but necessary honorable mentions: @graysoncusimano + @andrewmichaeljerry, @thegarage.bham, my therapist, and prescription meds
