Normal blood work. Still exhausted. Here’s what your labs might be missing:

1. You can be low on iron even when your complete blood count (CBC) looks normal. That test checks your red blood cells. It doesn’t show how much iron your body has saved up. A different test does. It’s called ferritin.

2. For years, many labs only called ferritin “low” under 15. Newer guidelines say under 30. But plenty of women feel tired and run down with numbers under 50. So if your result is 22 and the report says “normal,” you get sent home still feeling awful.

3. Swelling and irritation inside your body (called inflammation) can make ferritin look higher than it really is. Your iron could be low, but the number looks fine. Ask for a transferrin saturation test too. It shows how much iron is actually moving through your blood.

Hair falling out in the shower. Out of breath on the stairs. Foggy brain by 2pm. People call it “just mom life” or “just perimenopause.” Sometimes it’s iron.

But don’t just buy iron pills and call it fixed. Low iron happens for a reason. Heavy periods. Not eating enough iron. Your gut not soaking it up. Or losing blood somewhere, which your doctor needs to check. We have to find the why.

That’s what I do with my clients. We look at all your lab results together and figure out what to ask for next.

Comment LABS and I’ll send you a list of tests to ask your doctor for, plus how to bring up the new guideline at your next visit 👇

This is for learning only. It’s not medical advice. Talk with your doctor about your lab results.

Friends, run don’t walk to @liftherstudio ! Yall I’ve never been in a gym space that made me this comfortable and want a membership immediately. This was so incredible. The workout, the people, the environment. I truly haven’t experienced anything like it. It’s a group workout but the trainers are so attentive it feels like one on one and not to mention it’s all women. This was such an amazing experience. You have to try it. And when you do, tell them KB sent you. 🫶🏾 #dallasinfluencer #fitnesscommunity #fitness #gym #womensgym

I’ve been passionate about women lifting weights for over a decade. Strength training changed my life. But it took me a long time to find a room where I felt like I belonged in it, even as a trainer! @liftherstudio is that room. It’s the place I wish I’d had when I first started.

🏋🏽‍♀️It’s a place where you can walk in not knowing where to start and walk out stronger, coached, and seen. No intimidation, no guessing, just real strength training built for women.

🏋🏽‍♀️Building this with @katherinemason_ , @jamieweeksatl , and @foundersrow.co has been a dream.

🏋🏽‍♀️We soft opened less than a month ago, and I already can’t believe how many women we’re watching change! It’s not just how much they lift. It’s how they carry themselves walking out the door. 🫶🏽

If you’ve ever felt like the weight room wasn’t meant for you, it is. Come lift with us. 🏋🏽‍♀️🤍

Got to preview @liftherstudio this weekend. A women only strength training studio.

As a personal trainer, I’m always happy to see spaces putting strength training at the center of movement especially in the boutique fitness community.

One thing that really stuck with me was hearing a few women in the class say they hadn’t strength trained since high school. Strength training is truly something I think every woman should feel comfortable and confident doing and I love seeing a space designed to make that feel a little less intimidating.

More women prioritizing strength is always a win. 🤍

it’s race week folks!!

holy cow how did we make it here?! I run a marathon THIS weekend. this block has flown by and I cannot believe we are in the FINAL stretch.

last week’s taper was so wack (literally the only way I know how to describe it). The taper crazies are in fact real because I was moving less, absolutely exhausted, and hungry 24/7. My body for sure needed to come down from peak week but now that it has recovered, I am feeling READY TO GO!!

this week is all about getting good sleep, keeping the legs fresh, and finishing this out strong. the work is (almost!) done, now we go and celebrate with 26.2 miles!

Thank you Jesus for giving me the strength to do hard things! Forever in awe of what my body has accomplished this block, and I am so BEYOND excited to go race a hard effort on Sunday for my mom! I’ve said it a million times but she truly is the strongest person I know, and being able to run for her has been the biggest blessing.

Almost game time! Let’s go finish this out! See ya at the start line 🫶🏼
