🐩🪾We warmly invite you to the opening of our next exhibition, What does it mean to see a dog in a dream? curated by hoast, on 28 October 2026 at 7 pm.

Guardian and threat, familiar and uncanny, a dog is a creature stationed at the threshold between the known and the unseen. What does it mean to see one in a dream? Could it be premonition or warning?

The works belong to a pictorial tradition in which human and animal pass into one another and the anthropomorphic becomes object. The scenes give philosophical concepts a visual form and unsettle the familiar through unexpected encounters.

The opening will feature a live performance by Marta Beauchamp.

The exhibition is on view until 4 December, Wednesday to Friday 4-7 pm.

The exhibition is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport @kunstkulturministerium, the Austrian Cultural Forum Budapest @acfbudapest and the National Cultural Fund of Hungary (NKA).

The exhibition is part of the Art Weekend Budapest @art_weekend_budapest programme.

As a first-year student, I decided to gain a better understanding of contemporary art by aiming to visit at least 75 exhibitions. I ended up visiting 97. I highlighted my 5 favorite ones that touched me deeply in red, and marked a +1 in blue.

I chose mumok because of an Allan Kaprow piece called Push and Pull. Mother with Her Child made it into my top list for making me realize how important mothers are in their children’s lives, and how grateful I am for mine. Dawn to Dawn stood out for its massive scale and the immersive world I could enter at the exhibition center. Drift of Grounds was the first exhibition where I truly saw how much work goes into a show and how crucial mutual support is in our small art community; it was also very touching that my father came. Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence was probably my absolute favorite, and Generation 2026 at Amos Rex became the +1 because it was shocking to see how much funding and how many opportunities young artists receive in other countries. I hope we will have that here one day, too.

I visited these exhibitions between September 2025 and August 2026, and I am truly grateful for every single one of them.

What happens when the image of family unity begins to crack—and the things left unspoken start to surface?

In her new review, @mejuci explores @b_a_r_b_a_r_b’s immersive installation at the @ligetgallery, which transforms the familiar family dining table into a space of silence, inherited patterns, emotional distance, and gradual disintegration.

🔗 For a deeper look at the work and the uncomfortable dynamics it brings to the surface, read the full review on our website.
