ooohhhh that’s what they designed it for.

The Civic went to Laguna Seca on Saturday and smashed it. Zero mechanical issues, insanely fun, and a big hit in the paddock. Changed the brake fluid but otherwise took it as-is, mystery brake pads and all. I probably wouldn’t do champ white for a set of track wheels, though.

@lightspeedclub has been epic in assisting in driver development, helping me navigate the world of racing, and all around guidance on this journey!

@super_star_tommy and crew have been absolutely incredible in keeping this car in top notch condition. Countless setup changes, adjustments, and making sure the car performed flawlessly the whole season. Never a missed session 💪

@edgarlauracing deserves huge kudos. His ability to help me with car setup and providing specific feedback on my driving, have been invaluable. Hours and hours of data review and I am an entirely improved driver thanks to his consistent feedback. Edgar’s ability to help me change and grow multiple facets of my driving has been humbling, and fulfilling. Any who work with him are extremely lucky, and I am very grateful.

If anyone wants to make the jump from HPDE to W2W, hit me up. It’s a rush, and this team has set up an incredible way to do it, safely, and they will help you achieve your racing goals, whatever they may be!

SCCA Competition license secured. Now on to FIA and beyond.

Back at Laguna for the first time since last October: a year of barely driving on track, with a car I still don’t know well, but with a paddock full of friends/track nuts (old and new).

Beating my PB (1:35.3 → 1:34.9) was just a nice surprise on top… and had I not gotten too excited about the PB pace (and not completely blow T10 and T11 to close it out), that 34.1 would’ve been in the bag 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

Grateful to @rhodabueno for trusting me with her baby, and to @raymaninc and the @porschesanfrancisco team for getting her ready — inspection sign-off, fresh tires, all of it.

Now for to the “controversial” question: GT4RS or GT3RS at Laguna — which one to drive? Having tried both, I really can’t tell which one is “better”… two very different experiences for sure.

Which corner has you figuring out Thunderhill all over again after the repave? 🏁

For me, it’s Turn 10. Got some testing laps in this Thursday, and the track feels so different. Still working on that one!

Ride along in the C6 Z06 the @lightspeedclub TTA 1:48.4 lap record at @thunderhillracewaypark. We were prepping for a burner the next day to break into the 47s, but vehicle issues denied us an attempt. I saw 0.5sec improvement (same used tires!) before we had to retire the car. The sticker tires will have to wait for the next attempt!
