let’s ignore the fact that i alr have eleven books in my currently reading… i think this list is more reasonable for me to consume when im commuting to hell on fridays or when im in lecture and definitely paying attention. barely survived midterms and i fear a bitch needs to lock in so uhh… 🥹 the one book i’ve actually been making progress on is the order of the phoenix and that’s just because i use an audiobook for that when i sleep, and i don’t need to pay close attention.

that said, this semester truly has been a different level of busy. apart from academics, i’ve needed to put aside time for gym, meetings, and making sure mfs can write a single-page paper. i haven’t touched my wips, and it’s so sad. i haven’t finished reading a single book like a full sit down and just read which is also sad. no dramas either even tho the list just got longer w tian xiwei and yan an 😭

how are u guys faring 😢 are we all in the trenches (please say yes even if u aren’t just to join me in solidarity ❤️‍🩹)

hello,,, i went mia for a whole month 😅 uni started and i still havent figured out a balance to make everything work soo far. but this is my lil first step to hopefully creating a balance :)) anyways this week was HECTIC (pls bold undeline everything),, idk how i survived it, but those three days of uni i was just running from one place to another without rest. i attended my very first hackathon!!! (didnt win but, it almost feels like we won hehe ^^) and it was loads of fun!!

we also had club fair at uni (yupp talk about one veryy packed week lol), and i literally had my outift in a bag and changed after i came to uni after that day’s hackathon 🙃 but ngl life really is soo much more peaceful when the stress of an event is on someone else’s shoulder 😁 had soo much fun,, but didnt sleep a lot lol. thats why friday hit, and i was zombie T-T ++ i caught my lil bro’s sore throat, soo weekend officially gone down the drain 😞

awhile ago I saw @deadbookishsociety and @letterstojiya do this, and I knew I wanted to do this too!

literally just chose two pics that look aesthetic enough and combined them for the background 💀 first pic I took at an ikea (the full pic really does look aesthetic though I feel). Second pic was a selfie for my bestie 😛

I’ve tagged a few friends who responded to my story that asked if they wanted to be tagged! 🫶🏻 but also feel free to do this challenge if you weren’t tagged. Just for future reference though, I’ve changed the way I ask from the reaction sticker to the question box sticker. Just because I feel like in the past, sometimes people might’ve clicked on the reaction sticker by accident (which is very easy to do) and they don’t actually want to be tagged. I only want to be tagging the people who want to be tagged! <3

I’m still reading the Jasad Heir (87% though!). Sad to say that I’m not really enjoying it as much as I did anymore? 😭 reasons in the review ima write, cause I can’t articulate it properly right now. But I don’t think I’m gonna jump right into the sequel like I thought I would either. Been getting the urge to finally read A Song to Drown Rivers, so that’s probably what I’m going to pick up next.

I started watching a new cdrama last night: spring of the blade. I’ve watched two episodes, and it’s pretty good so far I’ll say? It’s has a revenge plot (which I love). We’ll see how long I last before I end up dropping for whatever reason.

sometimes i’ll remember the times i cried during “because of mr. terupt” and “wonder” when my teachers were reading it aloud for us in english. everyone would stare or laugh, and the adults? those trusted adults i’m supposed to have respect for? looks full of disgust as they asked why i was crying.

so maybe some people won’t get these vv personal specific moments of emptiness that i feel. but i trust in this community enough to not spread contempt or shame for feeling.

ngl i was fighting for my life making this, cause in the 2 weeks it took me to finish making this, i saw soo many versions i was like huh?? anyways heres the best and all inclusive version lol,, and yes it took me an eternity to post T-T uni started and canva has become my least used app.. 😞 oh well any common choices 👀

if last week was loads of fun, this week i was just being. i stayed home most days and it was also fun ^^ read soo much! and went out, and had lunch outside with my siblings and woah... its a fun experience just to be us. started off a lil awkward cause i kinda forgot how ordering in desi restaurants went,,, but issok a lil embarrassment never hurt anyone 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

all other days i was rotting at home lol. but one major change: i have been waking up bright and early to help my mom and also just for overall productivity, and it seems to be working!!!

snoopy and woodstock are two of my favourite cartoon characters. i love them so much. 🥹 they also make me feel closer to my mom because she likes them too.

i plan on going to the snoopy museum in tokyo in september and i’m so excited!! when i was taking the photo for today i realized i don’t have a snoopy plush; it’s my goal to get one in september. 😂😂

203 pages, and 35 minutes of my life. but oh the way i will forever remember this book! an absolutely raw and gut-wrenching story said in the most calmest of pastel illustrations and a serene voice.

until we meet again is a memoir written from the heart. the novel isn’t anything monumental or life changing, its just a girl telling her life story, and that’s what makes this book universal.

thank you to first second books for sending me an arc through netgalley! this does not affect my thoughts about the book in any way. out on april 21st, 2026!

you get to experience her emotions through her words and more evidently through the art. her confusion with scenes that meld into one another, her anger in the reds, her loneliness in all the deep purples. the book explores mental health struggles, complicated parent child relationships, the visceral need for a sense of belonging and just growing up as a kid who moved homes a lot. and subtly it also explores belonging in a wider sense, how politics and regimes shape families. how it shapes generations. and at the root of it all is art. art that connects lily with her mother, her father, her popo.

anyone who picks up this book will find a piece of themself reflected in here. this novel will leave a lasting impression and it reminds you that to be human is to seek connection. it’s learning to empathize and understand others. if you loved this time it’s real or midnights with you, this book is for you!
