A trip to the @mak_vienna to see the new presentation of their treasures from "Wien 1900", orchestrated by artist @markus_schinwald

There are about 800 objects on display, of which I picked some favourites:
- Gustav Klimt's ingenious designs for the walls of the Palais Stoclet in Brussels
- The very glam "Dressing room for a star" by Josef Hoffmann with a still of Fritz Lang's movie "Metropolis" at the back
- Emilie Flöge's forward fashion
- Margeret Macdonald Mackintosh's wondrous wallpainting
- furniture by Josef Hoffmann and Dagobert Peche (a firm fave of mine because of its perfect overload)

All beautiful & inspiring - like the piano concerto by Gustav Mahler - listen🎶🎶🎶

#wien1900mak exhibition @mak_vienna culturally makes anyone sophisticated feel at home. Harsh to say but true. The cream of design gotha on wich modernity we are still living on is here reunited by @lillihollein and @markus_schinwald for the artistic direction. Not to mention the display of @formafantasma for the Carpet and textile exhibition upstairs, that I have seen twice. The first time in the lazy way ignoring who did what, thinking that I have a (tired) fresh eye and the second time feeling ashamed after having been kindly warned not to miss it by the deus ex machina of this wonderful museum. Last thing, do not miss the restaurant Salon downstairs, their excellent spinach ravioli, with peas, raspberry and soft acidity. The best of Austria on a silver tray. You will thank me later.

The @rotewandgourmet Dialogues are an intimate event format, bringing together creative and cultural thinkers for open conversations about how we shape the present culturally, socially, and personally. In this first edition, Hannah Zundel (@han_z.label), @lillihollein (@mak_vienna), and Zita Cobb (@shorefastfogoisland) gave inspiring impulses on how we can make an impact as businesses, institutions, brands, but also as individuals and consumers.

And what a treat to see our friend @giorgiaeugeniagoggi from @morosetakitchen work her magic together with Alessandra Esposito, alongside @lorenzomanda and his team from @torre_ristorante in Milan. The refinement, freshness, and honesty of the flavours were the perfect echo of the spirit running through the conversations.

Zur Eröffnung von GLANZSTÜCKE haben wir gemeinsam mit @vancleefarpels Freund*innen beider Häuser im MAK zusammengebracht. Aus vertrauten Gesichtern, neuen Bekanntschaften und internationalen Begegnungen entstand genau das, was einen solchen Abend ausmacht: gute Gespräche, neue Verbindungen und die richtige Portion Glamour.

Gemeinsam mit @vancleefarpels feierten wir einen glanzvollen Abend mit internationalen Gästen, Freund*innen und Unterstützer*innen des Hauses. Zwischen Ausstellung, Musik und Dinner gab es viel zu entdecken, noch mehr zu besprechen und ausreichend Gelegenheit, auch selbst ein wenig zu glänzen.

ROTE WAND DIALOGUES. IT‘S A WRAP (part 1)

The first-ever Rote Wand Dialogues are in the books.

Three days of conversations that stayed with us long after they ended. Of new perspectives, honest questions and people who reminded us why we wanted to create this format in the first place.

Thank you, Zita Cobb (@shorefastfogoisland @fogoislandarts @fogoislandinn ) for travelling all the way from Fogo Island and sharing your thoughts on the power of place, community, the Shorefast Foundation and what hospitality really means.

Thank you, @lillihollein (@mak_vienna ) for bringing curiosity, clarity and important conversations around culture, water, artificial intelligence and the world we’re shaping together.

And thank you, @han_z.label , for opening the doors to your creative process and showing us where ideas begin, why materials matter and how fashion can tell stories.

A very special thank you goes to @nicolaus_schafhausen , whose curiosity, generosity, thoughtful curation and moderation made these conversations what they were.

And then there was the fire.

A huge thank you to @giorgiaeugeniagoggi (@masseriamoroseta @morosetakitchen ) and @lorenzomanda (@torre_ristorante ) plus teams, who travelled from Italy to cook with us and turned Saturday evening into something we’ll remember for a long time.

It was an unforgettable celebration of culture, friendship, and gastronomy, bringing together the creativity of Chef Choi Ji Hyung @jihyung0401 and the warmth of the Viennese dining scene. Seeing guests share stories, discover new flavors, and connect across cultures made this project truly special.
