👻🎃 Happy October! 🦇🕸️

Hey look, the leaves are changing a little bit! Yahoo! It's fall folks, and before they change the time again on us and the sun disappears for five months, we have some fun activities for you!

Here's a couple highlights:

Wet Wet Mud IV Oct 9th:
The 4th annual Wet Wet Mud exhibition features 20 female and nonbinary artists working with video, paint, collage, sculpture, print, and textile. Each art work delves into the broad theme of “parks”, with an emphasis on trees. The exhibition opening is October 9th at GPAC, followed by a big picnic on October 10th outside of GPAC. Both are free to attend and open to the public.

Vintage Movie Night | The Black Cat - Oct 10: Legendary film preservationist Eric Grayson leads Vintage Movie Night at the Garfield Park Arts Center! Join us for real movies on real reels, with real cool facts and real salty popcorn!
Legosi v. Karloff!!! After an accident on the road in Hungary, American honeymooners Joan and Peter, along with the enigmatic Dr. Werdegast find refug in the house of the famed architect Hjalmar Pelzig…who shares a dark past with the doctor. Banned in Austria, Finland, and Italy!!!!
$5 at the door

Fall Break Mask Making, Oct 14:
Join us for fall break this year to make cardboard masks. This free class is perfect to keep your kiddo entertained during fall break and it’s right in time for Halloween too. With the help of our instructor, Bobbie, your child will leave with a colorful abstract cardboard mask! All supplies provided.

GPAC Sampler Day, Oct 24:
Grab a friend or bring the family and join us for a full day of free arts workshops! The GPAC Sampler Day workshops will include collage, ceramics, cyanotype printing, drawing, and flow painting. Classes rotate each hour from 1-4pm. Stay as long as you'd like and rotate between every station, walking away with a handful of finished projects. Register now or walk in the day of the event. All supplies provided.
