At Tha Realm We Dance.

All together, supporting each others journey from first steps to stage to seasoned steps across the stage.

Dance is our release and grounding in a work that can feel overwhelming and out of control.

Dance is the place we let go for an hour or two of that in which plagues our day.

Dance creates a bond with others you don’t even see coming, a unspoken support between the “5,6,7,8” lasts a lifetime .

Dance … yes let’s

Tha Realm Dancers kicking off the community dance season at this years MEDA Grand Bazaar!

I could not be prouder of this crew of mixed level dancers for gathering each Sunday to work their piece and prep for this piece. To see them support and challenge each other was and is wonderful!

At Tha Realm I believe fully in there is a space for Everybody to Dance and that everyone can dance together.

Dance for fun, for love, for life … Dance and enjoy

🫶🏻The Dancers of The Realm 🫶🏻

Today dancers of all levels shared their love and curiosity for Bellydance in performance at the MEDA Grand Bazaar.

The Bazaar holds a special place in both my personal and professional journey through dance; I took many a first step there as have my dancers and many, many, many more.

Today I watched as these dedicated dancers hard work took the stage today and they danced . It was a pleasure to watch as they moved as one yet each dancer shone on her own. It was lovely to see the work spent on breath and execution showed up in lines up and transitions smooth. It was beautiful to bear witness to them dance with and for each other .

Next performance… May 10 … stay tuned

✨ Magic Happens When We Dance Together ✨

Dancers from 18 countries came together for our first-ever online hafla at the Iana Dance Club!

It has been truly rewarding experience to feel real connection that we managed to build inside our club community. We may have been separated by oceans and borders, but in those four hours, we felt truly connected, as if we’d known each other for a lifetime.

Every dancer gave their heart, every smile radiated joy, and every performance was met with boundless support. 🌎💃✨

Dance has this incredible power to unite. No matter where we are in our journey, our goals, or our backgrounds, we share this beautiful art form that transcends distance.

We’re in it together.

A huge thank you to all the performers, the club members who joined as our audience, and the friends and family who cheered us on. You made this event possible, and I couldn’t be more grateful. 💖 Here’s to many more moments like this!

Sappy back stage fun last at last night’s Jamin’ Jubilee at Jubilee Park. With my @tharealmdancestudio friends❤️

Literally sappy! There’s no sensation like dancing with bare, sap coated feet from the oak and magnolias.
And we danced! On “stage” and ever among the crowd with silk fans, sword, sagat and flying skirts.

Thank you to all who came to the first Drum & Dance of 2023 at Tha Realm.
🪬💙🪬
It was a wonderful evening of music and dance filled with silliness and laughter.
🪬💙🪬
The magic of last night was fuelled by musicians and dancers of past and present coming together and holding welcoming, open, safe space for all to:
🪬adorn new costumes for the first time
🪬dust off the finger cymbals and let them rip
🪬explore their connection with the music in improv
🪬Focus on a different skill than they have already dancers drum, drummers dance.
🪬Interactively dance with others in “call and answer play” little duels of dance joy
🪬💙🪬
Last night filled my heart and took me away from my grief for a few hours; it was a soulful evening.
💙🪬💙
Tha Realm is a space that will forever be home to all dancers who ever danced within its walls and each time I have dancers who have moved on return to share in an evening or a class; I am reminded that …. Dancers always come home.
💙🪬💙

As a teacher nothing makes my heart swell more than when dancers work through combos and choreographies and make them their own.

It’s a try honor to watch dancers grow. To see them move from unsure to confident, to see them embrace moves that they once struggled with, to see them love with grace vs trepidation.

I will forever be inspired by those who share in dance with me . I will always celebrate you.

Beautifully done @linadanceworks

About last night

✨🍂MEDA Fall Hafla 🍂✨

Dancers & Musicians gathered together to connect and celebrate not only dance but the community in which we dance in.

It truly is a blessing to bare witness to dancers taking first steps to stage alongside seasoned dancers returning to stage. To be in person to feel each other’s energy and passion again was inspiring.

To be able to dance is a gift.

🪬🧿💙 Thank you to all the dancers who shared their art 🪬🧿💙
