På Bokmässan lördag samtalar jag med dessa tre!! Göteborgs Stadsteaters konstnärliga chef Linda Zachrison har under hösten en unik line-up i repertoaren. Filmaren Lisa Aschan debuterar som dramatiker med egna pjäsen En mycket liten människa, filmaren Maria Blom regisserar Frank Capras /Palermos Livet är underbart! på Stora scen och filmaren Marcus Carlsson, som är aktuell med Biodlaren, regisserar V.D. av Stig Larsson.

Alla tre har en stark förankring också i teaterns värld, som dramatiker, regissörer av andras eller egna texter. Ett oemotståndligt tillfälle att fånga dem i ett handgripligt och utforskande samtal om dramatik och text.

🧡Yesterday Nadim — min väg från flykting till hela Sveriges polis (From Refugee to the Nation’s Police) had its world premiere at @goteborgsstadsteater 🎉

And what a play it is — beautiful, moving, and carried by brilliant actors 🫶🏽💐

I truly believe we need more stories like Nadim’s. About the complexity of being human.

About conflicts that tear loving families apart.

About racism and imbalances of power, and about the thin line between the life you live and the one you could create with the right people around you.

❤️And above all, about human connection — about what it means to be surrounded by people who lift the best in you, who believe in you and open doors to brighter paths.

I met @nadim.ghazale in 2022, when we moderated Polisens dag together. The same evening we went to the premiere of Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s play at Dramaten.

A few months later I was in Paris with @lindazachrison, and we met up with Khemiri and talked about theatre and about reaching people who never set foot in one over dinner.

Some time after that I was listening to Nadim’s book on @storytelsverige, read by @nadim.ghazale himself 🧡And it was like someone whispered in my ear: this has to become theatre! 🎭

So I asked Nadim. And he said yes! 🧡✨

Then I reached out to brilliant @lindazachrison — and she took it from there 🧡 Together with her team at Göteborgs Stadsteater and in collaboration with @borasstadsteater, they made it real, and put it in the hands of playwright @linden_lisa, director @fredrikevers, and the two people who carry it amazingly on stage, @ashkanghods and Elin Bornell🌟🌟. In October it opens in Borås, then goes on tour…

A beautiful collaboration between two theatres and a whole team — so in tune with Nadim’s story about what people can do for each other, made real by people doing exactly that.

🧡The day before the premiere, Nadim and I sat down at WOW Talks at @wayoutwestfestival, in collaboration with @storytelsverige. The podcast is coming soon, and more dialogues connected to the play are on their way🧡

Tid för återhämtning och lite semester 🦍🌅🧡

90 % av året lever jag i ett satans tempo och det är ett privilegium och jag älskar det. Men nu är det tid för lite paus.

I höst väntar, förutom arbete som vanligt och en teaterpremiär som jag knappt kan förstå, något alldeles extra. Ett äventyr olikt allt jag tidigare gjort och som kommer att kräva sitt.

Men nu → mindre skärm, mindre brus och mindre bry sig. Mer vila, träning, sömn, närvaro, upplevelser, tystnad och livsnjuteri med dom som betyder något.

Önskar er en fin sommar och vi hörs när det är dags igen🤍💚

Swedish theatre premiere at the Residenz @schauspiel_leipzig!
Swedish actor and theatre maker @iggy_malmborg has created the new strong work “Exit-Pieces” in coproduction with Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig, @goteborgsstadsteater, Inkonst (Malmö) and TOASTER Copenhagen.
In the first part, Iggy Malmborg holds a lecture performance on the esthetics of the theatre. In the second part he dissects a dysfunctional family with extremely unhealthy relationships.
The excellent actors Mia Höglund-Melin and Jesper Söderblom, both from Göteborg City Theatre, are scaring and entertaining.
The project shows how important it is for the independent field to work with the institutions - both worlds benefit.

Så fint att @kritcirkeln hann se 7 sorters tystnad i Stockholm och lyfter Lumor i säsongens sista avsnitt. Extra roligt att de följt Carlos resa från Ambulans och Lost Lake till kyrkan - och nämner Jonatan Rodriguez som ”så otroligt jävla mångsidig” - vi kan bara hålla med.

Och en Lumorfestival? Den tanken tar vi med oss!

Fint att få representera @goteborgsstadsteater i ett fellowship initierat av Flanders Literature i Belgien med fokus på samtida flamländsk dramatik. Idag Antwerpen och möte med dramaturger och dramatiker på Het Paleis samt trevlig middag med fellow nordeuropéer på besök. Imorgon vidare till Shakespeare is dead, festival i Leuven för samtida dramatik.
