Today, we continue the celebration of the achievements of our athletes at the 2024 Victorian Masters Championships over the weekend! Introducing @lingy.o! She competed in and won the 40-44 F55 category! She successfully snatched 46 kg and cleaned and jerked 55 kg. She ended with a total of 101 kg! Lingy showed us what it meant to "just keep pushing" as she has been remotely and pushing through some quad strains. She hadn't lifted more than 70% in the training leading up to the competition. Despite these hurdles, she finished well and attempted heavier weights in the competition. Congratulations on your accomplishments this weekend, Lingy! We can't wait to see what the next year of training holds for you! #weightlifting #olympicweightlifting #strengthtraining #strengthandconditioning #gym #snatch #cleanandjerk #squatjerk #squatjerks

WHAT A VIBE! The 1st @victorian_weightlifting tournament at Phoenix and we definitely had plenty of fun! Many first-timers from our crew and they showed their composure with many solid lifts and even some PBs. Even stepping onto the platform for the first time is a PB so well done everyone! Big thanks to @andyw8lifting for such great organisation for a smooth running comp. Grateful to the TG crew who came down to support and help out in the various sessions! Always thankful to have @ceralai to watch my back in the warm up area as always! Back to training in preparation for Vic Masters in April! #weightlifting #olympicweightlifting #snatch #competition #team #crew #community #fun

A common sight in the push press is the sliding back of the feet when finishing the drive. I don’t see it as much as an error but a lack of efficiency in force transfer. The purpose of the push press is to teach the use of the dip to generate momentum and transfer from the legs through the trunk into the arms. The shifting of the feet may suggest either an early use of the arms as the individual is pressing and the body has to move out of place to match the COM of the bar. Or it might be the individual losing some contact with the base of support which means stability is lost from the ground to enable a strong transfer of the leg drive through the trunk. To enhance this transfer, a good way is to use a pause in the dip with a focus on the pelvis/hips to hold the resistance of the dip. This way, you can take the time to stabilise the lower limbs while maintaining the connection with the feet. From there, the drive is more precise and the legs and trunk can be more stable for that transfer to come through a lot better into the arms. So if you are struggling hard to find the momentum from your drive, this is a good way to help you drill that feeling of connecting the hips to the feet for better force transference which means better momentum in your overhead movements. #weightlifting #olympicweightlifting #olympiclifting #strength #strengthandconditioning #strengthandconditioningcoach #trainer #training #gym #workout #fit #fitness #snatch #cleanandjerk #progress #keepgoing #legs #power #crossfit #squats #deadlift #team #motivation #community #trusttheprocess #discipline #quads #melbourne #australia

#WEIGHTFIT Fitness for weightlifters 😁. Most of the times, it’s accessories for time 😆 Cardiovascular fitness is just as important as strength, to help with recovery between reps and sets!

What an amazing experience this competition was! 2 weeks ago I had a back spasm and couldn’t touch my toes with the help of @movementcentric I was back lifting within a week. With all this going on coach @lesterhokw guided me through the process and we managed to get 5/6 lifts Snatch 75kg ✅ 80kg ✅ 85kg ✅ Clean and Jerk 100kg ✅ 105kg ✅ 110kg ❌ but a clean PB Total 190kg (10kg PB) Thanks to everyone to helped out 🖤🤍 #weightlifting #clean #snatch #family #tgstrength #coach #coaching #gym #love #fun #chineseweightlifting #pushjerk #competition
