Happy Black Breastfeeding Week, once again! 🖤

Before the week ends, we’d like to take some time to highlight a few of our amazing Birth Justice Care Fund partners who support birthing people throughout their breast/chestfeeding journeys.

Through education, encouragement, advocacy, and hands-on care, they’re helping families feel informed, confident, and supported in whatever their feeding journey looks like. Swipe through to meet them!✨

🚨Although the Birth Justice Care Fund is closed until 2027, you can find a list of our BJCF lactation specialists at sistersong.net/bjcarefund (LINK IN BIO)🔗⬆️

The Birth Justice framework is all about bringing our children into the world with dignity, autonomy, and justice, strengthening our collective power to create a future where they can play, learn, and grow freely. Thank you to all of our Care Fund partners and birthworkers who help us affirm this truth.💜🙏🏾

The world of birthwork is multifaceted and has layers of care. Almost everything I have learned and teach has come from the experiences, training and discipline of Black women. I don't take being in that sacred space lightly. I wish I could share every Pic of every certification and story I have, but, like most of the women I work with, we were too busy working to stop for documentation.

So, these next 20 odd days is for y'all. I think I can find something each day from these years of training. Y'all are Black History and Afro Futurism. Honored to walk, serve and celebrate with you.

Every mother on their birthing journey deserves to be cherished and loved through her most important moments of her life.

Last Sunday, we were not only able to serenade with music but we were able to provide resources towards a better now for mothers.

I’m extremely thankful for our vendors who took the time to come out. For any mom who’s in need of support follow these amazing maternal care resources. Thanks a million!

Fun with our InnerLight Holistic Family this past week & weekend! 💫
First up, Thursday evening’s “Who’s Your Birth Team?” panel — where @theinnerlightholisticdoula , wearing her Prof. Haley hat at @spelman_college , joined mentee @saige_1231 in curating an all-star lineup of practitioners for the Women’s Health Initiative Club.
So much wisdom, love, and light shared in one space. 🌸
