SCULPTURES IN THE GARDEN 2026 — WHAT AN OPENING WEEKEND!

What a beautiful start to SIG 2026! The sun was shining, the gardens were looking their best, and it was wonderful to see so many visitors enjoying the sculptures.

And the best part? There’s still plenty of time to experience it for yourself!

Set among the beautiful gardens and vineyard of Rosby Wines & Gallery in the Mudgee Region, this year’s exhibition brings together more than 280 sculptures by over 130 artists from across Australia.

Wander through the gardens, discover extraordinary art, meet the artists, enjoy live demonstrations, get creative with our community sculpture project My Kingdom for a Horse, and settle in for local food, coffee and a glass of Rosby wine.

Whether you’re an art lover, looking for a family day out or planning a spring escape to Mudgee, this is an experience not to be missed.

ON NOW UNTIL 25 OCTOBER!

📍 Rosby Wines & Gallery, Mudgee Region
10–25 October 2026 | Open daily 10am–4pm

INSTALLATION WEEK — WHAT A BEAUTY!
What a week it’s been at Rosby!

A huge effort from our wonderful team of volunteers, artists and everyone who has helped bring SIG 2026 to life.

We’ve loved catching up with familiar faces, welcoming new artists and watching the incredible works arrive and the exhibition come together, one sculpture at a time.

It’s been a massive week, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing crew. Thank you!

NOW WE’RE READY TO WELCOME YOU!

Sculptures in the Garden opens this Saturday 10 October at 10am, and every day from 10am–4pm until Sunday 25 October.

We’d love to see you here!

It all started back in March when we offered our first Community Totem making activity at ‘A Bit of Broke’ weekend in the Winmark Art Gallery coffee courtyard. Innocent visitors were seduced into a ceramic experience. Many had never had a ball of clay in their hands since primary school while others told stories of parents who were artists. Everyone enjoyed responding to this somatic material, telling stories and taking inspiration from the immediate environment of beautiful Winmark Wines.

We then repeated the process a few weeks ago as part of Sculptures in the Vineyards for the Wollombi Sculpture Festival after Sculpture Park talk and walk with @karinadcock and @isabelhlangtry while sketching shapes and sculptures along the way.

We hope to repeat this process to create a forest of totems that symbolise the people who love this special place and their tactile, visceral response to it. Aesthetic pleasure is more than just about looking afterall, and Winmark Wines more than satisfies all of the commonly known senses including taste, smell, sound and sight - but now also touch!
Come and not just touch, taste, smell, hear and see for yourself.

Last Wednesday at Winmark we offered an art immersion day as part of the Wollombi Sculpture Festival in the Hunter Valley.

It began with a very inspiring talk from distinguished London artist Isabel Langtry Principal of the Hampstead School of Art who shared her inspirations and site specific projects from around the globe.

This was followed by an informed walk around the Winmark sculpture park with owner Karin Adcock and Isabelle leading a lively discussion about what makes sculpture work and the importance of public sculpture that you can touch and interact with

Conversations continued over a light lunch Winmark style, followed by some communal ceramic bead - making to add to three existing, communally made totems installed that morning near the cellar door. Stay posted to see more of these soon.

Wow @sculptureinthevineyards 💛 Heart full celebrating all the different directions creativity can take a human. High five to Mum, who had a piece in this year! High five to @maguirewill who won a prize with his Stone Dancer! High five to @sneakepete who sold his sculpture! High five to all the lovely volunteers! High five to the one hundred dog owners who let me pat their pups!

The guy in the last photo was asking me to put sunscreen on his back where he couldn’t quite reach.

Great start to 3 part flower totem workshop on Saturday with a fantastic group of enthusiastic participants.
We focussed on my recurring obsession with macro carpa gum blossoms.
Looking forward to glazing workshop this week where we will use a variety of under and over glazes to bring these fabulous forms to life!
