You know the deal … great songs, drinks, tunes, friends and vibes (and even food if you can’t be bothered to cook!)…

Starting back @whitehartdot from 6pm on Sunday 18th October each month.

Free entry and a chance to support great live original music and catch up with friends!

Ps. The kitchen is open until 7pm - so arrive at 6pm if you want to order food - you might even want to reserve a table!

Woke Up This Morning (With My Mind Stayed on Freedom) Trad. Gospel, protest version by Rev. Wesby created in a jail cell during the freedom rides of the American Civil Rights Movement. This arrangement is adapted from a few different versions by the Freedom Singers.

👉🏽This song is sung with an awareness of the responsibility to walk the walk and talk the talk- as sung by the SNCC Freedom Singers, and Black people and white allies in the movement who put their bodies on the line. As Rutha Harris, founding member of the Freedom Singers charges: ‘Freedom is a constant struggle.”

For more context around this song, watch the film ‘Freedom Song’ and visit https://www.ruthamaeharris.com

🎶Stay tuned for our September session at The Nest in Oxford! DM if you’d like to be added to the mailing list.

One of our favourite moments of Wood this past weekend! We came away from the mics and into the audience to sing this beautiful song ‘Ode to Oli’ by The Idea of North, featuring @siriol_d. You can see all of us except Joe but he is there! Lovely to have our children listening 🥰 stay tuned for more clips! #Woodfestival #acappella
