Family-owned UK diamond and jewellery retailer Beaverbrooks has been the first in the UK to be recognised for its commitment to natural diamonds and responsible sourcing, following the award of ‘Premier Retailer accreditation’ from the Natural Diamond Council (NDC).

The accreditation is awarded to retailers which meet a defined set of standards, including offering a curated selection of natural diamonds graded by internationally respected laboratories, maintaining robust colleague education programmes to ensure strong product knowledge, and delivering a high level of instore service that clearly communicates the value and characteristics of natural diamonds. #naturaldiamonds #diamonds #standards #accreditation #beaverbrooks

This was one of the most wonderful days in my professional career. I became a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in The Court Room at Goldsmiths’ Hall.

The Company is one of the twelve great Guilds, and will celebrate its 700th anniversary next year. Since its inception, its priority was the independent verification of fine metals, a noble cause which continues to this day. By law.

It has played an important part in my career. I have celebrated three graduation ceremonies at The Hall and all my jewellery features a London Assay Office hallmark. It’s no secret that it’s one of my favourite places in the world.

It was a particular joy to celebrate this occasion with other friends in the trade - the lovely @lisalevinson who works tirelessly to promote natural diamonds, my former valuation tutor Rupert Huddy and the multi talented @mehdi_saadian.

It is one of the few Guilds which continues to support and educate its principal trade, and has always had a dedicated charitable arm. I could not be more delighted to be a part of this amazing institution.

The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has concluded its International Summit in Gaborone, Botswana, bringing together senior government representatives, industry leaders and stakeholders from across the global natural diamond value chain to examine the sector’s future amid shifting market dynamics and evolving consumer expectations.

Held from 18-19 May in collaboration with Botswana’s Ministry of Minerals and Energy under the theme “Nation-Building and the Future of Responsible Luxury”, the summit focused on the long-term positioning of natural diamonds, including provenance, beneficiation, transparency, sustainability and value creation across producing nations and trading centres.
