POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here are the final winners from our last six-word short story contest! These are incredibly emotionally impactful, and they, indeed, tell a story just like Hemingway did with his original.

Please take a few moments to look at them, and let us know, which one out of these is your favorite?!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated, both of those who posted their short stories and those who voted.

As always, I’m blown away by how a few words really can capture so much depth.

Also, thank you to @cosmosofwriters for partnering with me 🤍.

I hurt my thighs, so why does my pelvis hurt?
Why does it feel like the beginning of an endo flare-up? BECAUSE IT IS!
What seems totally unrelated is actually completely connected. Read the slides to find out how and why, so you can help yourself deal and heal!
You’re not crazy. 🤪 You’re an endo-warrior.

Always playing catch up & always trying to somewhat stay ahead of the flare ups is exhausting. I’m exhausted.

I see you. You’re not alone.

1. “A hysterectomy cures endometriosis”
The biggest one. Endometriosis is not a uterine disease — it’s tissue similar to the uterine lining that grows outside the uterus, on organs, tissue, nerves. Removing the uterus doesn’t remove the disease. Recurrence rates post-hysterectomy remain significant, especially without excision surgery.

2. “Your pain is just bad periods”
Endometriosis took an average of 8–10 years to diagnose historically because pain was normalized and dismissed. Endo pain can be debilitating, constant, and completely unrelated to a menstrual cycle.

3. “Pregnancy will fix it”
One of the most harmful myths. Pregnancy may temporarily suppress symptoms for some, but it is not a treatment, not a cure, and telling someone to “just get pregnant” is medically irresponsible.

4. “If your scans are clear, you don’t have it”
Endometriosis does not show up on ultrasounds or standard MRIs reliably. The only confirmed diagnosis is through laparoscopic surgery. Countless people are told they’re fine based on imaging alone.

5. “Menopause ends it”
Surgical or natural menopause does not guarantee the end of endometriosis. Lesions can still be fueled by estrogen produced outside the ovaries — in fat tissue and other sources. Post-menopausal endo is real and vastly underreported.

Week 3/52 ✨

This week looked like supporting local, surviving winter and finding calm where I could ☕️

Bagel dates, snow that won't quit, busy work days, work lunch in bed Fridays, and finishing my first book on the year.
