Do velho ao eterno. ✨

I still feel emotional when I look at this photograph. Some pieces stay with us in a special way, carrying more than their form, a moment, an idea, a part of ourselves.

Funcídio, part of my DisFunction collection, was developed for Lisbon Design Week 2025. Hand-moulded and carved in blue, it explores the freedom of form beyond function, challenging what an object is expected to be.

Today, I look at it and remember not only the piece, but everything that went into creating it. Because sometimes, a work becomes more than what we make it becomes part of our own story 💙

A final glimpse back at Lisbon Design Week.

Wool, a Forgotten Material started as an exploration of a material that has largely lost its value — and continues to develop through making, experimenting and collaborating.

Portuguese wool, transformed into tactile art and design.

I grew up surrounded by handmade objects.

Objects that carried the marks of the people who made them.
Irregularities, gestures, traces of time.
A knowledge quietly passed from one pair of hands to another.

My grandfather knew this language.
My father carried it forward.
And, without realising it, I grew up carrying fragments of it with me.

For a long time, I thought about what it meant to inherit something.

To preserve it.
To carry it forward.
To honour where it came from.

But I never wanted to simply repeat what came before me.
I wanted to take those memories, break them apart, stretch them, distort them and give them a new body.

Something familiar, yet strange.
Something rooted in the past, but no longer belonging to it.

This is where my work is taking me now.

Towards larger forms.
Bigger gestures.
A different kind of physical presence.

Pieces that occupy space in a different way almost like bodies, almost like characters, almost like something that has always been there.

Perhaps creating is, for me, a way of remembering without repeating.

Of carrying something forward, while allowing it to become something else.

And perhaps this is only the beginning 🤍

These photos had been sitting in a folder, waiting to be shared until today. They were captured through the beautiful lens and eyes of @matilde_fieschi on the day we launched the BIOPHILIA collection as part of @lisbondesignweek 2025.

At the time, I was carrying a sense of insecurity and uncertainty about this body of work, and yet it was one of the projects that gave me the most satisfaction to make. The process itself was very calm, a quiet observation of my surroundings, which I tried to capture and leave imprinted on the surface of the tiles.

A year later, every single piece has found its place, both in Portugal and abroad, and we continue to receive custom requests. That makes me incredibly happy.

I’m also incredibly grateful that, on that day, I was able to share my work in such an honest and unguarded way, surrounded by so many people who are dear to me. 🤍

A new setting for ‘Wool, a Forgotten Material’

After first presenting the project during @lisbondesignweek earlier this year, I’m very happy to see a selection of the works now finding their place at @quintaamala in Melides.

‘Wool, a Forgotten Material’ explores the potential of local sheep wool, a natural material that is increasingly overlooked and often treated as waste. Through felting and working directly with the raw qualities of the fibre, I create tactile artworks and objects that bring wool back into the interior in a contemporary way.

At Quinta Amala, the works feel remarkably at home, surrounded by natural materials, calm interiors and the landscape of Alentejo.

A selection of wool artworks and felted sheepskins will remain on view here throughout the autumn.

Thank you Karine for the warm welcome, your enthusiasm and for giving the work such a beautiful new setting.

A Taste of Kerala at Lisbon Design Week. ✨

We were delighted to bring the flavours of Kerala to a special Lisbon Design Week event at Aethos Club Lisbon.

Our heartfelt thanks to Michèle Fajtmann for trusting Kerala Restaurant Lisbon to be part of her gathering. It was a pleasure to create and deliver a selection of our signature starters for such a beautiful and inspiring occasion.

From Kerala’s aromatic spices to its rich culinary traditions, every dish carries a story — of heritage, craftsmanship, and the warmth of sharing food.

We are proud to see Kerala cuisine finding its place in Lisbon’s creative and cultural community. 🇮🇳🌴🇵🇹

Thank you, Michèle, for the trust and the opportunity to be part of your event.

First Lisbon screening of The Maximization of the Circumstance, with Lucas Muñoz and Manu Toro at Aethos Club Lisbon.

A film about making the absolute most of what you’ve got. Which, come to think of it, is not a bad philosophy for design. Or life.

Beautiful setting, inspiring conversations, plenty of familiar and new faces, and Lisbon showing off shamelessly in the background.

Thank you Lisbon Design Week for a rather lovely evening. More of this, please.
