Unpopular opinion? Maybe. 👀💗

I love a romance that makes me believe in the relationship, but I also read romance because real life doesn't always give me the grand gestures, fictional men, and ridiculously perfect love stories I want.

For me, it's not about whether a romance is realistic. It's about whether the emotions feel real.

But I want to know what you think! 👇🏻

Are you a realism over everything reader, or are you here for the fictional fantasy?

And what's something that instantly takes you out of a romance?

Let's discuss in the comments! 💌

I think I have found my next obsession!

I knew this book was pretty popular and have seen this one around a lot here. But what i didn't expect was the butterflies in my stomach feeling that i didn't feel in a while from a good romance... (Of course, of the exception of TLH).

I really wasn't expecting this goosebumps in the lower belly situation... Even right now, when I'm writing this, that feeling is persistent. And I'm so happy for that, because that's what I always crace in a good romance 🥹

The stars of this story, are definitely the characters. But what attracted me most was the vulnerabilities. Beautiful it of the feelings, or the situations, or even the choices... It was so well written that, all of it landed right where it was supposed to.

I also find it amazing how the author dodged several cliched, easy chances for a typical, formulated romance and went all in. And i think that's why it turned out well.

I was grinning like a lovesick fool... My eyes almost welled up occasionally... And i think I dropped notes rather eagerly and impatiently when it needed... Which is, in reality, a very rare thing for me.

I don't know if anything I will read next would be as good as things one... I definitely doubt it! And my only regret, or the only thing I'm sad about right now is the fact that i finished the story. I don't think moving on from this one won't be as easy as I thought it would be. It definitely was one of a kind. And I'm all so happy and excited to continue this series.

One office. One apartment. One bed. And absolutely no chance of keeping things platonic. 👀🤭💗

Forced proximity romances will always have me kicking my feet. There's just something about two people being stuck together until not wanting to be apart becomes the real problem. 🫠

Tell me your favourite forced proximity romance! I need more recs. 👇🏻

Some things in romance books are simply NON-NEGOTIABLE. 💅🏻💗

Banter that has me giggling at my book. Competent characters who make me swoon. The little things that prove they're paying attention. And a grovel that actually means something.

These are a few of my romance-reader hills to die on, and I'm not backing down. 😂

Now tell me, what's ONE romance-reader opinion you'll defend with your whole chest? 👀👇🏻

This was definitely a cute read!

Stories always feel special to me when there’s a bookshop in the mix. And this story, centred around a bookshop, was everything I could ask for in that aspect. Add a charming small town to the mix, and I honestly can’t think of a cozier setting!

A New Start at the Happily Ever After Bookshop follows Carrie, a single mom who comes to Castle Cove, a small coastal town, to temporarily take over her aunt’s bookshop while her aunt is away on vacation. The bookshop is every romance reader’s heaven. Plus, there’s the handsome single dad next door! The whole setup was truly beautiful.

I think what I loved most about this story was the characters. Carrie and Michael’s character arcs were beautifully developed, making it impossible not to feel invested in their journey. Especially Carrie’s! I think that’s what makes this story stand out.

Overall, A New Start at the Happily Ever After Bookshop is a beautiful story about second chances and fresh starts, with a charming bookshop as its witness.

Busy romanticizing my book and my little window corner. Some days the story is just more important than the outside world and honestly, that is valid.

If you saw me staring out of the window with a book today, no you didn't 😂

What book has you ignoring all your replies right now? Tell me below, I want to add it to my list.

Okay... It was good read.
And let me just lay out all the good things first.

The tension was palpable... There were moments that could have been cut with a knife. And that's a very good thing.
The characters were lovable... Nathan and Bree had their own individualities, which is really important. So them both being totally in their own world, without over stepping each other was a good thing.
And i really liked Nathan. He definitely is some green flag 💚 Acts of service is one of my favourite tropes, and this guy really nailed that one!
Also it's fake dating. That's the best thing!

Now what irked me...
Well, there is a reason why I don't like friends to lovers (except some very rare cases) tropes. It can go from cute-swoony to real frustration very quickly. And that's what happened here too.
There were so many moments that I felt like jumping inside the book and slapping some sense into the MCs. There is a difference between being oblivious and being blind. They were definitely the latter!
And that's the only reason why I decided to take away that one star. Because it was rapidly swinging between good-to-frustrating for me. And that's not a feeling I want from a romance.

Overall, the cheat sheet was a good, cute love story. I enjoyed it in some ways. I don't hate it. But it's not something I want to revisit too...
