Gearing up for hopefully my last week out of town for work, but mentally my mind is still here, at @littlemeeples work trip/cottage retreat from a couple of weeks back.

Here’s some dope pics from @boardgamevisuals and @hxlia.w, banger food from @essiellle, and amazing gaming with amazing company.

Man, I love boardgaming.

Back to the full-time job grind already, so I can’t help but look back longingly at the past couple of days!

I spent the last 3 days at Canada Plays, the amazing Canadian trade show for all things boardgames, presented by @asmodee_canada! This was my first time being invited and it was an absolute delight to be able to spend hours on end with my favourite people and my favourite hobby.

Here are some of my highlights!

💜: Seeing and gaming with my Canadian friends @kovraystudios @theboardgamegarden @boardgaymergirl @boardgamingcrew @tabletopsavants @littlemeeples @howirollgames! As always, I find our little Canadian community such a warm place to be. We also got to be part of a content creator panel led by Rodney (@watchitplayed) and Mandi (@613mandi), and it was a great conversation focused around supporting each other and all we do!

🤝: Finally got to meet the Canadian legend Rodney Smith! He’s just such a nice guy and it was fun playing and geeking out about Here Lies with him!

👀: The trade show was a big but spacious room to wander and learn about all these fun new games coming out under the Asmodee umbrella. Made a stop at each booth to have a chat with all the lovely people there, as well as peep some new games that I’m sure will be all the rage soon!

🧩: I participated in my very first speed puzzling competition! And we got second…last! LAUGH. It was stressful, it was fun, and it was super cool just trying something I’d never done before. I’m just happy we finished! Plus, I thought it was really neat that the puzzle we did featured art from a Canadian illustrator, @christyobalek!

🎲: And who could forget about the gaming. A big room, a big game library, and a group of wonderful people are all I need to have a good time, and Canada Plays was a cocktail of all three. I logged a total of 17 games played, many of them new to me! Keep a lookout for my thoughts of some of my faves in the future!

I can’t thank @asmodee_canada and david_stuart enough for this welcoming event. I genuinely feel the love radiating from the community, and I’m always pumped to be a part of it!

But now, I need sleep!
