Thank you to all the organizations that attended our retreat this year ✊ Special thanks to @saje_southla for the space and @peoplescafe.la for the food! NOlympics LA 2026 Coalition Retreat Recap On February 1, NOlympics gathered together with our coalition members for a day-long retreat to exchange ideas and dream up plans to fight the Olympics and the injustices it inflicts on our communities. The retreat took place at a critical moment, as Los Angeles is gearing up to host the World Cup, and elected officials push for our city to become a permanent host of mega events, while offering no protection from the horrors of Trump-fueled capitalism, and all its policing, surveillance, gentrification, and displacement. Our retreat offered space to realign, reimagine, and recommit to our resistance efforts.

LA IN SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE 🇵🇸 💪🏽 ❤️ 🔥 CHRIS SMALLS IS COMING TO LA 🔥 @chris.smalls_ x @gazafreedomflotilla The president of the Amazon Labor Union and one of the most powerful union leaders of our time is joining us in solidarity with Palestine ✊🏾✊🏻✊🏼✊🏿 From LA to Palestine, from warehouses to the streets — our labor has power. We demand an arms embargo NOW and an end to U.S. complicity in genocide. 📢 LA Labor and Community stand united. 📢 Together we say: NO MORE weapons, NO MORE war. 📢 Together we fight for justice, dignity, and freedom. This is your call: COME DOWN. USE YOUR VOICE. USE YOUR POWER. Let Los Angeles — and the country — see and hear us loud and clear. 🚨 Don’t miss this historic moment. Stand with Chris Smalls. Stand with Palestine. Stand with the people. When your children and the youth ask what you did in this moment of injustice: will you admit you stood silent, or will you say you rose up? 🧠🫀 #LaborForPalestine #LASolidarity #ArmsEmbargoNow #ChrisSmalls #LosAngeles #California #FreeDC #LA #BeTheChange #useyourpower

We’re returning to Alondra Park THIS SUNDAY for another Mutual Aid Day from 12-2:00pm. @hill_network will be leading an art build to make it clear that ICE is not welcome in our communities!! ❤️‍🔥 We’ll be back at 📍Alondra Park this month (on 3353 Redondo Beach Blvd) with FREE clothing, narcan, zines, ppe, information on how to protect immigrant communities and more! Join us to learn more about helpful resources. 🌟 Interested in volunteering or skill sharing with us? DM us, fill out our interest form in our bio or visit us in person! In honor of Black August, we want to share the meaning as the month of August holds a significant place in history. The origins of Black August can be traced back to the 1970s when political prisoners within the Black liberation movement were incarcerated and martyred under oppressive conditions, some who are still incarcerated today. Unfortunately, this political oppression is still happening and much remains the same from Americ@ to Gaz@. That’s why this month it’s especially important to support your local community spaces like @blacklanterncoop - they are hosting some amazing programming and collabs this month with comrades like @instabaji, @harriettubmancenter, @c_c_w_p and @mrhinitiative —————- Regresamos al Parque Alondra ESTE DOMINGO para otro Día de Ayuda Mutua de 12 a 14:00 h.

While we have your attention, we wanted to profile some groups that are fighting back against Olympic displacement! #homesnothotels #homesnotgames 1/ We are raising operational funds, and over the course of this fundraiser, we want to draw focus to some of the core issues that drive our work. Much of our work was founded on issues and risks faced by tenants in mega-event host cities — originally here in LA —and since expanding transnationally . 2/ Since NOlympics LA formed in 2017, we have consistently maintained that bringing the Olympics to Los Angeles would displace people even if no new venues were built; we believe the idea of and lead-up to the Games function primarily as a marketing campaign for a land grab by real estate speculators, enticed by local governments. We’ve seen tenants pushed from their homes, including rent stabilized units (RSOs), for developments around stadiums and other Olympic Venues. 3/ At a time when our city faces historic crises around homelessness, gentrification, and displacement, destroying RSO housing stock and displacing tenants is akin to pouring gasoline on a raging fire. It is critical that we oppose the narrative that the Olympics are good for LA, as it will continue to be used by developers and their political allies to justify further displacement. We have collaborated with local movements fighting displacement and sportwashing throughout the region. 4/ Flower Drive Tenants Association 5/ There used to be two blocks of residents across from the LA Memorial Coliseum on Flower Drive. The 3900 block was bought by Ventus Group in 2019 with plans to build “Exposition Point” (formerly “The Fig”), a large complex containing 252 hotel rooms, 252 student housing units, 78 mixed-income apartments, retail, and office space. It anchors Ventus Group’s assemblage of a total of 7.8 acres of land into mixed-use development projects. Although the eight fourplexes of the 3900 block provided rent-stabilized homes for 32 families and the buildings were registered as a historic district, in 2019 LA’s City Council approved a plan that would allow Ventus Group to demolish them all. Some residents took $50,000 cash for keys offers that didn’t help them find permanent housing, as rents are so high in Los Angeles that the money only helped them get so far. 6/ After Ventus Group purchased the 3800 block, the firm targeted the block with an intense cash-for-keys program as well. They didn’t want to see what happened to their neighbors happen to them, and they fought back. On March 2021, they joined the Los Angeles Tenants Union and formed the Flower Drive Tenants Association. They organized weekly bilingual meetings for neighbors and community members to share information, articulate demands, and strengthen their resolve to fight. From these gatherings, members decided early on to reject Ventus Group’s cash-for-keys offers. Since its formation, Flower Drive Tenants Association members have used their meetings to support each other on subsequent issues, such as establishing terms for film and food truck companies working next to their homes, and providing guidance on how to address management’s suite of harassment tactics. FDTA and NOlympics LA will continue to work together to oppose Olympic development as we march closer to the 2028 games. 7/ Lennox-Inglewood Tenants Union The LA Olympic bid and SoFi Stadium were developed in tandem; the building of the stadium was always tethered to the bid for the alleged “No-Build” Olympics, one in a series of increasingly evident LA28 lies. With these development projects, Inglewood, like so many other cities, is once again putting the interests of real-estate, tourists, and the wealthy before its working-class residents. But the process of gentrification and displacement is neither complete nor inevitable. 8/ Just across from Sofi Stadium sits what used to be called Inglewood Gardens. It’s been rechristened Stadium View Apartments by a new owner, who attempted to displace longtime residents to charge higher rates. The Lennox-Ingelwood Tenants union (LITU) and residents of Inglewood Gardens fought back, resisting attempts to displace them from their homes. NOlympics LA has worked with LITU and the Inglewood Gardens tenants to host teach-ins, protests, and repair campaigns. We will continue to stand in solidarity with tenants—and against SoFi, the proposed Clippers stadium, the Olympics, and all other displacement projects—as waves of evictions loom and elected officials refuse to acknowledge we exist. 9/ Just across from Sofi Stadium sits what used to be called Inglewood Gardens.
