I can’t believe that my solo show @liulicrystalart is ending on May 31st. It has been such an honor. Everyone treated me like a queen and spent such care and love to detail installing the show. I am in awe of the team and Loretta Yang for their dedication and vision to have my show come alive. They even made stickers and had tulips dyed to match my artwork at the opening. At REVELATIONS CHINA, contemporary craftsmanship is shaped by a group of voices influencing the global creative scene today. To maintain high standards of authenticity and quality, we have assembled an international Artistic Steering Committee of experts to set the editorial vision of the Biennale.

很少靜下心參觀博物館。前陣子去了上海琉璃藝術博物館，老實說在那之前對於琉璃工房的瞭解停留在「機場會看到，適合送人的漂亮東西」。而琉璃的確很漂亮，但更值得認識的是它回到我們眼前的這個過程。在既熱情又溫柔的陸老師導覽之下，我們學到「琉璃」在戰國時期就已經有各種用途，但之後製作方法卻有好一段時間被遺忘。

琉璃工房創辦人楊惠姍和張毅老師為了要把這個古老的美學找回來，付出了龐大的積蓄和想像不到的精力。完美的搭檔也在他們作品中看見。一起構思，楊惠姍的手藝配上張毅的文字格外浪漫。特別開心是我有機會看到「WHY GLASS？至善前行－張毅創作回顧展」，更深了解到這兩位藝術人一路上的堅持。三月就要結束了，有機會的朋友可以抽空去體驗一下喔！

I really enjoyed my time at the LIULI CHINA MUSEUM in Shanghai! The space is beautiful, and the pieces are breathtaking, but what really got me was the story of how “liuli” (ancient Chinese glass/crystal) was developed in 1100 B.C., forgotten, and then brought back to life by two dedicated artists in 1987. Actress Loretta Yang and director Chang Yi were relentless in their pursuit, and today liuli is proudly recognized all over the world. Their pieces have been collected by some of the most well-known museums, and the passion of a lifelong partnership is apparent in every detail. I’m especially happy I got to see the current retrospective exhibit celebrating Chang Yi’s life. If you have the chance, go check it out before it ends in March!
