🚨We'll see you this Thursday, October 15th with the CPK Trio and Bob Lanzetti at Live Wire Athens! The CPK Trio is an exciting collaboration between saxophonist Jeff Coffin, drummer Jordan Perlson, and bassist Viktor Krauss. Each musician is a virtuoso in his own right, and together they create a sound that is both sophisticated and groundbreaking. Jeff Coffin, a Grammy Award-winning saxophonist known for his work with Dave Matthews Band and Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, brings his dynamic and expressive playing to the group. Jordan Perlson, a versatile drummer known for his work with Becca Stevens and Adrien Belew has a rich background in jazz, rock, and electronic music, and adds intricate, textured rhythms. Viktor Krauss, an accomplished bassist and composer, is revered for his work with artists like Bill Frisell, Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Lyle Lovett and James Taylor. With deep roots in jazz, Americana, and experimental music, he provides the harmonic foundation and melodic depth for this powerhouse group. The CPK Trio’s music is a true fusion of styles, characterized by improvisation, complex arrangements, soulful compositions, and a fearless approach to exploring new sonic landscapes. The trio is joined on this tour by very special guest Bob Lanzetti, renowned guitarist and member of the Grammy Award-winning band Snarky Puppy.

Where to stay outside of Atlanta… One of my absolute favorite stays, in one of my all time favorite cities, Athens, GA. Everything in their space makes you feel like you’re living straight out of Architectural Digest. Add in the amenities and friendly service, it’s seriously hard to beat. Athens is known for the University of Georgia, but it’s also incredibly artistic. They have several famous artists such as the B-52s, REM, and more. The music scene is phenomenal. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend attending a concert during your stay at either the Georgia Theatre, 40 Watt Club, Live Wire, or even in the Rialto Room on the ground floor of Hotel Indigo itself! Every time I visit, I always discover something new I love about the city. The restaurants are incredible. Their greenspaces are incredible. And they always have something to do (even outside of tailgating) such as one of their many festivals or going to a Rock Lobster Game. What does it take to create a safer night out for everyone? It starts with people who know how to look out for one another. Recently, Cottage Administrative Intern Morgan helped co-facilitate a SAFE Bar Network training at LiveWire Athens. The SAFE Bar Network is a nonprofit organization that partners with bars and other alcohol-serving venues to facilitate conversations about creating a culture of safety. Through education and active bystander skills, the Network empowers staff and community members to help prevent harm and give everyone a safer night out. I’m grateful to have four of my concert photographs included in the Arts Center of Hartwell Annual Juried Art Show.
