So grateful for last night’s screening of Beautiful Was the Fight at @emersoncollege ! It was such a special opportunity to share the film again with an audience, and to participate in the talk back afterwards with @rubyrosefoxmusic @susancmusic @lizbills @bobby_dangero - all who added so much to the discussion. I was so happy to see several Emerson students who are studying cinema attend and participate in the discussion. Their questions were so thoughtful and interesting and I think there was a lot of opportunity to learn from one another. I can’t thank Brenna McCormick Ball, Nejem Raheem, Paul Pegher, Cheyenne Harvey, and their entire team enough for making it all possible and creating an event that ran so smoothly. And I’m grateful to everyone who came, some who had already seen the film, and some who hadn’t, and made the effort to come out and be together with us. It was a special night for me and I can only hope for those who were there. Thank you. Special thanks to Brenna, Wendy, and Colin for documenting the evening in photos. #beautifulwasthefight #lonelybirdfilms #bostonmusicscene #womeninmusic #musicdocumentary @thepapercompass @nejemraheem @paulpegher @colinsipos @w.tweedale @therecordcotrc @bizcreativeenterprises @emersoncollegesoc @emersonsofilm

As many of you know, this film has been a passion project for me for the last 10 years. This Thursday, Oct 22, marks the 10th anniversary of the first day of filming and it would mean the world to me, and everyone involved, if you can come out and be with us. While I am thrilled that the film is on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Tubi, Roku, DirectTV, and other streaming channels, to me, none of that compares to experiencing this film (any film) together with an audience in a cinema.

I feel blessed that Beautiful Was the Fight has already screened at many of my favorite Boston-area venues including, Landmark’s Kendall Square Cinema, Somerville Theatre, Museum of Science - Mugar Omni Theater, Paradise Rock Club, Harvard Business School, and The Regent Theatre Arlington. But, to be given yet another opportunity at Emerson College, of which I’m an alum, for what will most likely be the last Boston-area screening ever is a dream come true to be honest. Feeling grateful for things coming full circle and truly appreciative of all the work that Brenna McCormick Ball, Nejem Raheem, Paul Pegher, and their entire team is doing to make this a great event!

✨ MEET THE ARTISTS ✨ Our Reproductive Justice Benefit Show is THIS SUNDAY 10/4, and we have some incredible performers lending their talents for the cause:

@savoirfairemusic

With a voice straight out of the jazz age, Savoir Faire brings the modern existential crisis into a realm of retro-noir. Born to an American mother and an Iranian father, Savoir Faire was absorbing the influences of everything from classic 60s rock to Persian pop at an early age. She would go on to study jazz guitar in university, performing as a jazz guitarist and lounge singer before adding the last few ingredients that would form the aesthetic of Savoir Faire: lush and syrupy vocals, biting lyricism, and searing guitar parts that float between the genres of jazz, rock, and chamber pop.

@howsaboutcharlie

How’s About Charlie is a unique 4-piece group known for tight harmonies, soul gripping lyrics, and energetic yet soothing vibes. Their live performances stop listeners mid-conversation, capturing the attention of everyone within earshot, whether in an intimate coffee shop or large outdoor festival.

liz bills

Liz Bills, known for her fiery stage presence and emotionally charged, powerhouse vocals, passionate and honest in her songwriting and every performance she gives; Liz is unapologetically brave yet incredibly vulnerable and real. Taking you on a wild ride that is intoxicatingly sweet and dangerously ferocious.

@thedarlinmusic
The Darlin’ is an alt-country band from Lowell MA. Comprised of Atticus on bass, Eliot on drums, Lucas on keys and Oliver on pedal steel, and Emma on vocals and guitar, the Darlin’ was formed out of a shared love of country music and new england

All proceeds benefit The MAP! Grab your tickets at the link in bio now and we’ll see you at @warehouse_xi on Sunday!

🎥 Dropped off the Beautiful Was the Fight Digital Cinema Package (DCP) this morning to Cheyenne, Emerson College’s manager of the Screening Room and Paramount Studios, who will oversee the technical aspects of our upcoming screening and talk back on October 22, 2026 at the Bright Family Screening Room!
She was wonderful to talk with as we both share a love of cinema and each have experience working in film projection booths. (Cinema Paradiso!)
