What a day for Claire & Robbie at Bowfield Hotel & Spa.

A really lovely couple and a beautiful wedding day to photograph. So many happy moments, plenty of laughter and lots of memories made with the people they love.

SNEAK PEEK - RHUARIDH & LYSETTE 🧁💐💍

It was great to go back to Blackshaw Barns, a cracking venue and local to me as well. John came along to capture photography as well for a few hours (quick reminder: you can choose to have a second shooter for certain parts of the day, it doesn't have to be from beginning to end).

✨ This one was an amazing DIY wedding, to the point where the groom was up until 1am the night before 3D printing Pokémon characters for the tables. It was all very, very cool.

The weather wasn't the best on the day but the happy couple didn't let that phase them one bit. We still got outside for some lovely photographs out in the rain and it was the first time I've had a groom actually drop the bride after picking her up but she bounced back and it ended up in raucous laughter.

🤠 After the post-ceremony couples photos, they changed into their country and western outfits for the reception. They hit the dancefloor and did some karaoke too.

Rhuaridh and Lysette were such a lovely couple to work with and had a smashin day full of fun. Congrats to the new husband and wife! ♥️🥂

A little confidence boost ✨

Im passionate about building confidence through strength and movement, but confidence can come from lots of different places.

Yesterday I took some time for myself and had a makeup lesson with the lovely Lizzie Carr, who did our makeup for the Off the Rails event hosted by @thesassyedit_

As I’m getting older I don’t have time…(or the patience!!!) to watch endless YouTube tutorials or try to experiment 🤡 🫣 — so this make up lesson was perfect. Really useful, personalised advice on what suits me now, how to apply it, and which products are actually worth using.

A lovely reminder that investing a little time in yourself — in whatever way makes you feel good — is never wasted. 🫶

Thank you Lizzie 🤍 @lizziecarrmakeup

Last night wasn’t really about fitness.

It was about women. 🫶

Sharing honest conversations and experiences around midlife.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Sarah from The Sassy Edits, and although we come from different industries, we realised we’re actually helping women do the same thing.

Sarah helps women feel confident in styling their clothes.

I help women feel confident in the body that wears the clothes.

One thing we kept coming back to was this though…

Confidence isn’t something you find. It’s something you build.

Sometimes that starts with putting on an outfit that makes you feel like yourself again.

Sometimes it starts by picking up a dumbbell for the very first time.

Neither is really about clothes or exercise.

They’re about believing you’re worth investing in.

Thank you to @thesassyedit_ for inviting me to chat, everyone who came along to @thevintageprestwick, listened, laughed and joined the conversation. It was such a lovely evening filled with honest chats, brilliant questions and a room full of inspiring women including fab chats from Shiona Johnston founder of @renaissancefemme and Lizzie Carr founder of @lizziecaremakeup.

Here’s to more conversations that remind women they’re never “too old”, never “too late” and always capable of becoming stronger—in every sense of the word. 🩷

Last night, over 70 women came together for the very first Off the Rails hosted by The Sassy Edits at the gorgeous @thevintageprestwick .

It wasn’t a fashion show. It wasn’t a networking event. It was an evening of honest conversations about midlife style, confidence, identity, makeup, wellbeing and the changes so many women experience but rarely talk about.
There was so much laughter, a few tears (sorry 🤦🏻‍♀️), vulnerability, preloved shopping, delicious nibbles and tipples, new and old friendships enjoyed and so many special moments.
Thanks so much to @renaissancefemme_ @bloom.in.fitness and @lizziecarrmakeup for the conversations and all the staff @thevintageprestwick For everyone who bought a ticket to attend, helped behind the scenes, donated Lucky Label prizes, bought a Lucky Label to raise money for @megans.space.fundraising and @scottishfamilies (and WOW I’ll be doing a separate post on what YOU raised!), @ayrshiremagazine for your support and for all the women who believed this little idea was worth showing up for… thank you, you all showed up looking fabulous!
Shall we do it again?…

If you’d love to join us next time and be part of the Sassy Circle where midlife women come together to have conversations about style, confidence and life, join my email list via the link in my bio, that’s how you’ll hear about future events first.

Sarah x

Last night was one of those evenings that stays with you. ❤️

It was an absolute privilege to spend time in a room full of incredible women, all sharing experiences, wisdom and honest conversations about this stage of life. Women who truly understand the changes, challenges and transitions that midlife brings.

There was no judgement. No pretending. Just openness, curiosity and a genuine desire to keep growing.

As I’ve got older, I’ve realised that life isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about continually rediscovering who you’ve always been. Each chapter teaches us something new, and if we’re willing to embrace it, we grow into an even more authentic version of ourselves.

Last night gently challenged my thinking. It made me reflect on where I am right now and, more importantly, how incredibly grateful I am.

Grateful for the wonderful people who fill my life with love, laughter and kindness. Grateful for friendships that nourish my soul. Grateful for my health, my resilience, my determination and for every experience that has shaped the woman I am today.

I walked out of that room feeling peaceful, motivated and reassured.

I don’t have everything figured out… and I don’t think we’re meant to.

But one thing I do know is this…

I am unapologetically me. And after all these years, that feels like a very beautiful place to be. ❤️

10am she was in the chair.
By 1pm, she was his wife.
By 4pm, they were already driving into forever.

Molly & Finlay, your wedding day was everything. ICONIC from start to finish.

Congratulations, you two. Thank you for letting me tell your story 🤍

The bride who doesn’t know how beautiful she is 🤩

This stunning girl opted to have her hair off her face on her wedding day - which I think opens everything up and shows off her features beautifully 🤩

You can see on Iona’s trial pics that we did leave some face framing down for her to try out, but speaking to her after the wedding she was happy that we pinned it all back!

This girl and her bridal party were a total dream 🤍
