50 miles. 52.75 miles, actually (because why not add a little extra for good measure?) 🏃 💪 Yesterday was an unforgettable day in every way. I ran not just for me, but for Celiac Awareness, and I couldn’t have done it without the incredible people who made it all possible. From my friends who helped organize to the the aid station heroes, the few who ran alongside, and everyone who cheered me on — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support fueled every step and kept a smile on my face the entire time. As I crossed the finish line on my 50th birthday, I realized there’s no better way to mark this milestone than by completing a journey surrounded by so much love. I ran for my daughter Quinn, who inspires me every single day. This one’s for her — because I would go to the ends of the earth for you, sweet girl. ❤️ I learned that you’re capable of more than you think, and with the right people by your side, anything is possible. Why didn’t the Celine Boogie bag get love in 2002? She should have! This was saucy, sexy zillion-ply cashmere Michael Kors-era of Celine. Plus, the market was RIPE for It bigs…Balenciaga City Bag, Mombasa, Prada bowling…but the Boogie? Stout, lady, shallow, and shaped like a flared Domino…Sure, she was had some megawatt fanfare! A buttery blue SATC cameo on the crook of Prim Charlotte’s arm, then on Madonna, on Gwyneth…and Madonna even collaborated with Michael on a searing fuchsia edition smothered in Swarovski crystals…only 40 are out there! Still…the Boogie never had the oomph as the other bags at the time. For this deep dive neverworns piece, I asked two Vogue editors who worked at the magazine at the time and one said: “I have no memory of that bag having any real meaning at the time.” BUT WHY? As someone who has had a front row seat to developing some of the world's leading brands for the last twenty years I know a thing or two about trending markets - and women's wellness is definitely at the forefront of rapidly innovating markets today. It was an honor to host a dinner in New York City this week and moderate a fire side chat with @debbiewosskow who is an absolute force. This multi-exited founder, who is the co-chair of the UK government's Invest in Women Task Force has now co-founded @thebettermenopause a science backed CPG brand focused on helping women feel their best. Openly discussing the landscape of physiological and hormonal changes experienced by women as early as their mid thirties is simply not talked about enough. But thanks to women like Tamsen Fadal @tamsenfadal who's ground breaking documentary premieres today- the tide is changing. Tamsen hosted a wonderful cocktail party at her home this week for the co-founders of @alloyhealth whom I adore, and moderated the most informative conversation with best selling authors and doctors Dr. Sharon Malone @smalonemd and Dr. Avram Bluming who co-authored @estrogenmatters.
