Tuesday we held the 2023 China-Europe Design Innovation Forum in the joint China-Italy Design Innovation Hub in Milan. Politecnico di Milano with Tsinghua University took the chance of the Design Week in Milan to organize a great event which showcased our two Universities' excellences and included contributions from Tsinghua University Vice-President Prof. Wang Hongwei, the Vice-Consul General Mr. Zhang Kaibin, PoliMi Deputy Rector for China Giuliano Noci and the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan, Mr. Tommaso Sacchi.
I was honored to give a keynote speech on behalf of Polimi School of Architecture.
The next day with the friends of Tsinghua School of Architecture we set an articulated framework to expand our collaboration with new activities between Milan and Beijing. Stay tuned

📖 STAR HOUSE⭐️ - A FAMILY ARK
“... With this large urban residence in the city of Kaohsiung, she has interconnected the two building archetypes, giving each a new lease of life. The project took shape when Chang recognized a disruption in the strict urban grid at a point where two grid layouts – developed in different periods – collided at different angles, creating an anomalous-shaped plot alien to the rigorous logic of everything else around. For Chang, this odd-shaped pocket of land resembled a star, which, oddly enough, turned out to be the name of one of the streets running along one side of the plot. It was then she decided
that the new building would be an enormous manifesto embodying her idea of the family as a group of people who while relating and connecting with their environment also guard their identity as an independent nucleus where every member can shine, like stars in a constellation. “

LOC 2026 è aperto!
17 gennaio 2023

.
Grazie a @polimi e @bovjjsa marco merati

The renovation of an old house in a functionalist style at Tórshavn, in the Faeroe Islands, is the result of a collaboration between the architects Eyðun Eliasen
and Pascale Nemery. Each new detail holds a dialogue with the Nordic tradition and the fascinating landscape of these islands in the North Atlantic.
