Fear is an emotion, not facts

The greatest leaps in business and in your life often happen when you feel scared.

You can feel fear and still do it.

If you wait until you aren't scared, you'll still be waiting

Using both photography and filmmaking as tools to tell stories, she uses connection between herself and those in front of her camera to allow more of those stories to be told in a single frame.

Today she's sharing how we can make those connections and be a welcoming place where those in front of our camera feel comfortable to be seen.

@atlartfair

And on the first day I watched the people, got the lay of the land and felt the work as it was being experienced.

A couple days ago, I had the honor of speaking on a panel for @apa_la. Such an inspiring and genuinely fun afternoon catching up with the LA photo community, reconnecting with some longtime legends, and meeting so many new people whose work I admire. Feeling very lucky to be part of this community. ❤️ Thanks @elisabeth.caren and @aspictures for all that you did to make this such a great day.

i think any photographer in the entertainment industry would find this photograph hilarious and a bit absurd. perhaps even @strange.victory.

what a weird existence it is being a photographer! thanks for having us @apa_la. it was great hearing what’s going on in our industry and who we should be pointing our pitchforks at… just kidding… :)

Yesterday at @apa_la I had the opportunity to spend a day surrounded by photographers and creative professionals whose work and careers represent so many different paths through the photography industry.

I’m truly grateful to @americanphotographicartists for creating a space where photographers can come together, ask questions, learn from people working at a high level of the industry, and simply have meaningful conversations about photography and the work behind it.

For me, opportunities like this mean a lot.

I came to the United States from Ukraine and have been building my photography career and my professional community here. Meeting people who are willing to share their experience, answer questions, and talk openly about their work gives me something very valuable: perspective, inspiration, and the feeling that there is always another step forward.

To all of the photographers, creatives, producers, and speakers I met yesterday, thank you for sharing your time, your experience, and your stories.

You may never know how much a conversation, an answer, or simply seeing the path you have built can mean to another photographer who is still finding her way.
For me, these moments are a reminder to keep learning, keep working, keep asking questions, and keep moving forward!

Thank you @patti_silverstein for bringing this community together. And thank you to everyone who shared their knowledge and made yesterday such a meaningful day for me.
Guys 🤍 I love you so much……..

An amazing day at @smashboxstudios with @apa_la 📸
Real talk from photographers who've built careers on grit, vision, and tenacity. There were lots of key learnings that were shared from their journeys, their specific areas of the business, what they look for in the people they work with, how they feel about AI, and how they actually work with their teams.

My biggest takeaway: Keep doing what you love, AI will never replace what humans bring to the process between teams and talent, take chances, stay ready and relationships are important.

Grateful to the panel for their honesty and generosity. Thank you, APA, for all that you do, your panel selections are always stellar 🙌. Thank you to Art Streiber @aspictures for incredible moderating skills and engagement.
