Atelier Kū × J. & L. Lobmeyr

Some collaborations are about objects. This one is about the way a room remembers light.

At the heart of Atelier Kū will be a monumental Lobmeyr chandelier, measuring 2.20 metres in width and 1.10 metres in height. Inspired by the house’s iconic chandelier design for New York’s Metropolitan Opera, it will become the central work of art in our space.

And the story continues at the table. Every glass we serve from — for cocktails, champagne and wine — will be Lobmeyr crystal. Every glass detail will carry the same sense of craft, clarity and intention.

Founded in Vienna in 1823, Lobmeyr has spent six generations shaping the art of glass and light. Its chandeliers for the Metropolitan Opera were so striking that, on opening night in 1966, the first applause went to the twelve chandeliers rising above the audience.

Now, that remarkable heritage finds a new home at Atelier Kū — in what will be Lobmeyr’s first restaurant collaboration in the Middle East.

Together with @angelikarosam and @lillihollein, we were part of the jury for this year’s @falstaff.living Design Awards.

Last year, we stood on the same stage in the beautiful @mak_vienna — back then as winners in category Sustainability.

Zwischen Lobmeyr Lustern und Sacher Rot sind es vor allem die Menschen, die diesem Haus seine besondere Atmosphäre geben. Und manchmal beginnt ein schönes Gespräch mit einem guten Glas Wein. 🍷

Dass hier auch unsere Salomon Undhof & -Estate Weine eingeschenkt werden, macht mich stolz. Zwei Familienunternehmen, die viel verbindet: Geschichte, Herzblut und die Freude daran, Menschen besondere Genussmomente zu schenken.
