And what a spectacular finale! Our Catch+Create founders brought their A-game to Seattle with stunning products, polished pitches, and incredible energy all around. We couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come. And this is just the beginning for them!

There are no shortcuts between the open ocean and a perfectly plated seafood dinner.

Watching the F/V Challenge tie up while our crew hoists fresh catch up onto the dock is always a grounding reminder of the sweat, salt, and skill it takes to feed our community.

Living and working in a small coastal town means our food system runs on real relationships. Our friends @localoceanseafoods are serving this catch on their menu. Paul @nwreliable is always there to make sure the restaurants needs are served.

We’re proud to team up with JoJo, the guy behind @forage_to_table to document these offloads. He is incredible at capturing the early mornings and muscle that connect the ocean to your plate. We love having local talent behind the lens to tell our fleet’s story.

Know your fishermen. Support your local creators. Eat local. Shop local.

There’s something pretty cool about being on the docks while @newportoregon is just starting to wake up.

Boats coming in, fish coming off, everyone already moving like they’ve done it a thousand times before. No big production. Just another morning on a working waterfront.

This one was filmed with @wrighttideseafood as the catch came in before heading over to @localoceanseafoods

Big thanks to Wright Tide for letting me keep showing up with a camera and to Local Ocean Seafoods, NW Reliable LLC for all being part of a community I’m damn proud to call home. @cityofnewportore

Turns out Forage to Table can start a few miles offshore.

Find Your Local Catch with Oregon Uni!

Newport, Oregon’s Local Ocean Seafoods sets a high bar for locally sourced seafood, including a new 100% Fish initiative, aimed at unlocking the full value of every fish.

This month, the restaurant is highlighting a local uni on toast, from urchin diver and fisherman Aaron Huang’s OoNee Sea Urchin Ranch.

The OoNee divers harvest red and purple sea urchin. Known locally as purps (or perps), purple urchin are decimating vital kelp forests on the U.S. West Coast.

OoNee Sea Urchin Ranch removes purple urchin from overgrazed reefs, where they can lie dormant for years, waiting to feast on the kelp as it begins to regenerate.

OoNee brings the dormant purple sea urchins from overgrazed reefs to their onshore facility and feeds them for a few weeks to get them market-ready.

So whether you’re eating red or purple sea urchin, support for local harvesters
like OoNee helps to protect and preserve critical marine habitat.

The absolute highlight of our Oregon Coast adventure. Never have I tasted fish like this beautifully charred black cod. Clean-tasting, buttery-soft, and succulent, my wife and I were blown away by the quality of this dish. It features house-made dashi broth, a feature of Local Ocean's 100% Fish Program that commits to using every last bit of the fish they bring in.

The Brazillian style fish stew was also phenomenal, and the cocktails met every single bar for us. My favorite was Busy Earnin' which uses fresh passionfruit juice to achieve a vivid tropical hit to senses.

We loved this place so much we came back one more time before we left!

In an industry as tough as seafood, Amber is an absolute force. Known up and down the Oregon coast for her incredible knowledge and unmatched fishmongering, she’s someone the entire Newport fishing community looks up to.

Over the last two years of working together and building a friendship, I’ve learned that her work ethic is only rivaled by her massive heart. Despite working hard daily at Local Ocean, she still checks on me every single day just to make sure I’m smiling, hydrated & fed.

She is a true coastal treasure, an angel of a human, and the exact example of who I look up to. So lucky to work with you and call you a friend, Amber! Seafood legend status forever ⚓️🩵 @localoceanseafoods

(Day 4 of 5) Headed to Knoll Loop and God’s Thumb out on the coast in Lincoln City, looked for whales in Depoe Bay, and closed out the night at Local Ocean in Newport.
