Here’s a little bit of background about us and how we started. Part one…

I’m Liz, one 1/2 of L&L, the other half is my husband Nick. We’ve been married for 33yrs (since we were 19). We have 2 adult children and a 1 yr old grandson.

I began in January 2018 blending specific oils to aid my husband’s recovery after he suffered an adrenal fatigue breakdown. He’d been pushing himself too hard for far too long, a reliable ‘yes man’ to everything to eventually his own detriment😔.

Up to this point, he never really knew anxiety, I was always the one who had suffered with panic attacks, OCD and phobias.

He did with ease, things that would put many people into the worst attacks of stress, for example: Nick did a lot of public speaking, (the largest audience he had was 10k+), he drove all around Europe, America etc… imagine Paris or New York at rush hour and he would be so calm.

But Nick’s family were all young and healthy and he really hadn’t seen anyone seriously ill until he was by himself when my mum passed away, we feel that on top of the extremely non stop life we were leading was a catalyst to his breakdown. Suddenly the man who I never saw cry would breakdown over everything.

Overnight our lives changed totally. A kind friend paid for us to take a short spa break (one of our top recommendations is @malvernspa) the essential oils used at the spa (Espa) seemed to ‘give me back my husband’, but as our main family earner was unable to work, Espa Reed diffusers were out of our budget.

One ‘gift’ I’ve always had, (it used to get me into trouble when I was younger) was that of a very very strong sense of smell and taste, I could dissect a meal or an aroma to say what were the ingredients and the rough ratio too… which meant I could recreate at home, a favourite restaurant dish or in this case an aromatherapy blend. I began with our first blend which we called UPLIFT but I tweaked it to make it more appealing and more effective for anxiety and panic attack relief.

We began using this blend and the effects were incredible, not just to Nick but to me too and to our visitors who began to ask me to create products for them too. Part 2 coming soon….

Benefits to the oils this blend contains:-

Clove Bud essential oil potentially helps to cleanse the air and environment. A 2018 study looked at the effects of essential oils on bacteria that can cause respiratory infections, it was found that clove oil did have antibacterial activity when used as a vapour.

Rosemary essential oil a popular oil which has long been associated with a number of healing and remedial qualities.

Lemon essential oil is an incredibly popular cleaning oil and can help to keep our homes safe and hygienic.

Cinnamon (bark) essential oil is a natural cleanser. Used in a diffuser such as our EcoPod it may help fight the symptoms of sore throats, coughs, and colds. Diffuse this spicy-scented oil and allow its antibacterial properties to fight the infection, while the relaxing effects should help you to breathe easy and get some much-needed rest.

Eucalyptus essential oil has a strong, fresh fragrance it is thought to have cleansing and grounding properties and also many believe this essential oil to have healing, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties, so it’s been used to treat everything from minor colds to the symptoms of asthma (alongside your regular treatment not to replace).

Red thyme essential oil believed to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal properties. Thyme oil is also thought to have antispasmodic elements, so it’s frequently diffused by those with coughs and colds.

Coriander essential oil may help fights bacteria and thanks also to its antispasmodic properties, coriander is often used to tackle coughs.

Tea Tree essential oil an incredible addition to this blend, tea tree was used regularly by Australian troops during the Second World War to repel insects and soothe injuries. Since then, tea tree essential oil has been found to contain terpenoids, which are proven to have antiseptic qualities.
