The race isn't here yet. But the work is.

The UA Next Combine benchmarks our hybrid athletes across key aspects of fitness, so that they are equipped with knowledge and context to go further in their journey.

This is what it means to Commit 🔥

Meet Shuqi @locketandkey! She’s likely the one replying all of your Instagram DMs and posting content, and also the one who cannot tolerate people not hook-gripping 🫣

Not David laughing at snatches then getting mogged 5 seconds later.

But more importantly: is CrossFit actually the best way to train for HYROX?
We asked. @locketandkey ‘s answer might surprise you.

She left law for more freedom. Then came the late nights, weekends, customer complaints and a business that follows her home.

In @locketandkey ‘s perspective: Same same, but different. Because at least she gets to decide what her schedule looks like.

Maybe having more freedom doesn’t mean having more free time.
And as David puts it (with a load of copium), to be busy and booked is a blessing.

We couldn’t help but ask the most juicy question: Would her gym have gotten the same attention if she wasn’t a lawyer?

@locketandkey ‘s legal background gave her visibility, opened doors and helped her build a network. But it didn’t necessarily translate into sales.

So how much does your background actually matter when you start a completely different business? Maybe the ‘privilege’ gets you through the door. But what you do with it from there is entirely up to you.

She was probably the first in her bloodline to say “I was on track to become a lawyer… but decided to put my life savings into a gym” - and we’re here for it.

Year 1: 6 days a week, 6:30am–9pm, making $2k a month.
A few years later, @locketandkey says she’s financially ahead.

So was leaving law actually worth the risk?
