Meet our emerging artists: Mik Metzger, Lauren Doeschot, and Rachel Brodsky!
Mik works in mixed media, combining collage and acrylic materials. About her work, she says: My work is a playfully strange exploration of identity, memory, and emotion. Influenced by music, philosophy and nostalgia, I create layered visual narratives that reflect deeply personal themes as well as broader human experiences. Colors and textures guide my composition, while a sense of yearning and self-discovery drives the process.
Lauren works with found objects and resin. About her work, she says: Resin forms, found materials, and reflective surfaces are assembled into altar-like structures that act as small archives and temporary shrines. They hold fragments of memory, personal keepsakes, and organic debris in states of suspended preservation. Through translucent and cellular forms such as glass, fluid, spores, and orbs, I explore how we store, protect, and mythologize the things we cannot fully let go of.
Rachel works primarily in graphite. Her work mixes inspiration from medieval and renaissance eras with modern symbolism and surrealism, to create dark and entertaining images that are both surrealistic and realistic.

Thank you for celebrating our Emerging Artists with us yesterday! Show runs through 2/1.

At the end of the show, we are awarding one of our artists with Best in Show, consisting of a 3-month apprenticeship with ACG and space to display their artwork alongside our member artists during that time. You, the audience, decides! The artist with the most votes by end of show is named Best in Show! Vote for your favorite artist in person at the gallery, or online by following the link (also in our bio): https://forms.gle/W723jjJEDqYheECw7

Don’t recommend running a half. Then going on a trip where 95% of transportation is walking. #downbad
