Acid wash skies and un-quantized drums. 🚂 Day 3 of the “Train Hoppin” rollout. Sliced some dusk footage from Juanita Beach, layered it with a dark fantasy train loop, and flipped the blending modes inside out until it looked exactly how the beat feels. The track officially drops October 20th. Hit the link in my bio to pre-save and get your ticket. 🎟️ #tecasound #boombap #beatmaker #undergroundhiphop #mpc

🔊 archival videos of my FIRST EVER DJ gig 🤣 years ago (at @lofiseattle) found randomly while looking for something else lmaooo! complete with my cherished @discwomannyc shirt "AMPLIFY EACH OTHER", a way of moving and existing that i really value and strive to enact in my values + how i move + dance thru the world, this timeline, and beyond. the very beginning of a lifetime of ❤️‍🔥 adoration ❤️‍🔥 of the art and craft of DJing 🎧

🕯️ i look and dance happily, wildly, passionately, because...i am 🥰🕯️

🌌 i hope these bring your ears and souls as much joy and silliness as they do mine :P 🌌

Big thanks to everyone who came out to the Vanishing Seattle book event & signing at MOHAI on Thursday! We had a blast talking about the book and the signs included, plus doing a deep dive into some local landmarks – including the legendary Dog House! 🐶 🏠 And we loved hearing and reading the stories folks shared about gone-but-not-forgotten spaces featured in the book.

Gratitude to @mohaiseattle and their awesome staff for hosting and co-organizing such a smooth event; and as always to kick-ass book designer & publisher @teykem @tomepress!

You can still purchase “Signs of Vanishing Seattle” (plus Vanishing Seattle gift cards and Old Seattle enamel pins🎄) at the link in bio or at vanishingseattle.org.

Keep an eye out for an announcement about our next book event in January 2025!

I found the Epiphone ET-270 during a crazy search for my ultimate electric guitar. I wanted something light weight, with a double cut away design, single coil pickups, short scale neck and with tuning pegs like my acoustic guitar. This guitar is maybe the only guitar ever made with all those attributes? I got extra lucky that it also happened to be super old and have such wonderful character. It also maintained my unintentional yet ever growing red guitar collection. This guitar was a dream come true and it helped me really fly on stage.

We have an exciting announcement to make...since July of last year, after the closing of the @lofiseattle we have been trying out some venues for Soul Nite...they have all been great, but just have not felt completely right...Well, "There's No Place Like Home" so starting this July 20 we are going back to 429 Eastlake Avenue East to what is now the @blk.ldg.sea ...we are also moving Soul Nite to the 3rd Saturday, instead of the regular 2nd Saturday of the month...However, our 19th Annual Rare Soul Weekender in November will stil lbe on the weekend of the 2nd Saturday, November 7-10...so join us back at our old haunts to keep Seattle's longest all vinyl soul dance night alive and relevant....
