What I’m learning about gym life that maybe church life could learn from…

How to show up consistently….especially if you’re new.

For many, gym life is a daily. You don’t just show up on Sundays, take in a good workout and think that’ll last you for the week. Getting in the reps consistently is where transformation is seen.

Church life? Spiritual transformation isn’t always a goal so missing reps of worship and word doesn’t feel detrimental. Sundays are expected to pump you up for the week with no plan when your spiritual energy is depleted.

When we moved to a new city, finding a new church and gym was top on the list. What I wasn’t expecting was how gym life is set up for immediate community that church life could learn from.

What I’ve seen for the last 6 weeks of being with a new gym is that they’re actually excellent at expectancy. There’s no surprise when you walk through the doors; and it feels like they actually want to show you around while telling you why it should be your gym. You get eye contact, a big smile; and if you workout that day a pat on the back or high five. If you choose to workout alone, you’re given space, consideration; with support close by if you need it.

When you’re looking for a new gym it’s just a given…you’re going to see people. Which means they’re gonna see you…sometimes just rolling out of bed, could be you’re showing up after work; you may be happy, frustrated, anxious. It can be your best PR day or you could have failed at every lift. “You are here” is the standard; how you show up is up to you.

This “newness” of church and gym has me thinking. In reality, with church only on Sunday for newcomers, it’s going to take longer. We’re okay with that. But knowing how we’re praying for church community and this city; seeing the gym life model feels like we can learn so much about consistency that brings transformation. Spiritual reps that bring people not only into a personal relationship with Jesus but into daily community with expectancy. [read more 👇]

what if… normal wasn’t just going to work 9-5. weekends off, a couple weeks of PTO + trips when you can afford them, or put them on a credit card (with the boss’s approval of course)? what if someone started telling you that you could earn trips, ones you don’t have to pay for, that you can earn shopping sprees (ones that don’t touch the bank account), free nikes and oura rings. what if you start this endeavor and life becomes filled with “yes’s” instead of “no’s”. what if you learn and do things you otherwise wouldn’t have. sit with people who share the same views and values as you.

what if? just food for thought

✨✨ Here’s your reminder that the women in these rooms are just like you!! They were looking for community and a way to feel their best so they could show up well for the people they love. Some needed extra income, others were searching for more purpose. And what we found is that the personal growth, confidence, and opportunity to help others through this journey is incredibly empowering🙌🏼

If you’ve ever thought “I need something like that!”
Im with you!! So I said yes. Yes to everything that made me nervous, fixing my gut issues, and then expressed to my friend how much I loved me a paid trip 💖🤭AND here we are now. SAY YES TO YOU! This can be for you too🩷

Easter Sunday filled our hearts with so much joy ✝️ 🐣
We started the morning at the new Lake Point Royse City Campus—such a beautiful service celebrating our risen Savior! Then we gathered together and enjoyed some amazing seafood at Anaya’s… so delicious!
Grateful for a day spent honoring Jesus and making sweet memories with family and friends. He is risen! 🙌 #happyeaster #heisrisen @logandye88 @dawson_reef51 @courtneyjleech @navydavygravy @mary.gilbert.3954 @carter.frangrancarter48

Wor ship on the beach at the Plexus Leadership Retreat was something I will never forget. Standing on the shore in Cancun, listening to the waves crash while praising Jesus… it was absolutely overwhelming in the best way.
I watched as people were baptized in the ocean, and tears just rolled down my face. I didn’t even know them personally, but I knew God’s love for every single one of them. There is something so powerful about seeing someone publicly declare their faith.
One moment especially touched my heart. I saw a lady struggling, trying to decide if she should accept Jesus and be baptized. You could see the battle in her mind. And the word God gave me for her was clear as day: she thinks she is NOT WORTHY OF HIS LOVE.
NO!!!!!! God will meet you right where you are. He loves you just as you are.
✨ “Because you are precious in my sight and honored, and because I love you…” — Book of Isaiah 43:4
Your worth isn’t based on performance or opinions. It’s based on the fact that God calls you precious.
After she was baptized, I walked up to her and shared the word God gave me. I introduced myself — “My name is Marquetta.”
She looked at me and said that growing up, her best friend’s name her whole life was MARQUETTA.
WOW.
That was ALL GOD.
There is no coincidence when God moves. What a powerful reminder that He sees us, He pursues us, and His love is for ALL of us. @logandye88 @plexusworldwide

I’ve had some time to reflect on what God did yesterday & wow😭🙌🏼 He put this idea in my heart a few years ago & brought it all to life yesterday reaching over 200 people & 8 of those gave their life to Jesus along with 1 baptism!! Daughters, mothers, aunts & nieces from different churches, towns, backgrounds, stories & seasons coming together for one thing.. JESUS🙌🏼 Sometimes saying yes to a challenge like this can be scary but God calls us to step out.. To be bold.. To trust him & to lay it all his feet. He gets the glory for what happened last night.. Chains were broken.. Lives were changed.. Friendships were mended.. So many breakthroughs & it was a blessing to be a part of. I had the blessing of working alongside an incredible leadership team! This entire event was fully funded by donations from many people. There were people who raised their hands during worship for the first time, came down for prayer, walked away changed & that’s why the entire event was brought to life in the first place by God.. To change lives.. To build the kingdom.. To create unity.. In a world that tells us lies, to divide & everything we’re not, it’s important to stay rooted in Christ & who he says we are. We’d love to be able to do this every year! Keep praying for our community.. Keep being a light.. We won’t always get it right & we’re all a mess but staying rooted can bring so much peace, love, joy & unity🙌🏼

Colossians 2:7
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness🤎
