“Youth athletes are competing more rather than training to compete.”

@ericcressey, Head of Health and Performance for the New York Yankees, shares an important perspective on youth performance training: long-term development isn’t built during one short offseason. It comes from consistent, age-appropriate training exposures accumulated over years.

Two well-designed sessions per week may not sound extraordinary but repeated consistently, they can transform how an athlete moves, performs, and tolerates the demands of competition.

At Kings of Fitness, this is what we mean when we talk about preparing athletes. Help them build the strength, power, movement quality, and physical capacity their sport requires.

Thank you to @ProteusMotion for bringing the Proteus community together for this conversation and thank you @ericcressey for sharing your insight.

Is your athlete preparing to compete or only competing?

📩 DM us “PREPARE” to learn more about long-term athletic development at KOF.
